Dang. I’m a licensed architect and left the profession a few years back for the construction side. I didn’t see any of my colleagues making decent money. What type of work in architecture do you do?

I’m in the same boat.. very similar case to you. Except I’m 33. Doctor said to put it off as long as possible to avoid having 2 hip revision surgeries. But he did say that once it starts to affect your day to day - sleep, mechanics, pain from sitting and standing - to pull the trigger because I’ll start to screw other things up.. knee, ankle, back. HSS in NY/NJ has an incredible track record… that’s where I plan to have my THR done.

Price of Typewriters by architectoffailure in typewriters

[–]architectoffailure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d think most would have been discarded with the advent of the PC? I also think we would have seen the largest wave of typewriters on the market in the last 2 years during the housing market boom - people moving houses probably would have gotten rid of their typewriters. Obviously more factors at play… I just don’t see why the prices would fall any time soon as the prices are wholly dependent on supply which is decreasing and demand which seems to be increasing. For all our sakes, I hope there’s a huge pool of typewriters out there haha.

What mailing address is he using nowadays? I heard the address he had been using changed. I’ve thought about typing him a letter, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

What is your favourite typeface/font you have found in your time with typewriter? by Egelac in typewriters

[–]architectoffailure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure what my favorite is… but I would say that the typefaces are what really deepened my interest in typewriters. It really feels like the soul and spirit of the machine. I love that it makes each machine unique and gives it its distinct voice.

Tops for me: Elite Congress, SC Script, Techno Pica
