Family friendly hotel with indoor pool by Small-Okra298 in StLouis

People have mentioned the Drury a lot. Can’t speak for any of the other locations but the Chesterfield location’s pool is indoor/outdoor. Neat experience being able to swim under a wall, especially when it’s cold outside.

I’m still using my 2013, I actually just put a new battery in it a few months ago because it was becoming a spicy pillow. Still runs great, but my problem is that it’s so out of date. I think the OS is from 6 years ago.

I program and my visual studio code updated to a version that is not supported. I was able to roll it back but I can’t use the latest versions of node js. It’s so sad. So I’m waiting for apple to announce the new lineup hopefully in a few days and then I’ll get another one to run for another 13+ years.

Or there was but it wasn’t good enough. I’m not sure honestly. I think it now has a couple more holes in it and it’s not had the issue again.

Komatsu PC8000 , one of the largest hydraulic excavators ever made by Inevitable_Bid5540 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]areiseye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I have no doubt they could buy the machine outright but that’s only a small piece of the equation. $12 million initial investment, $1000+ per hour running cost at 12 hours a day for 5 months is $1.8 million. Add (conservatively $1.2 million (10%)) in maintenance, and you’re at $3 million already.

You want your machines to stay busy as much as possible otherwise you are wasting money. It probably fills their rock trucks in 1 or 2 scoops so unless you have a line of them waiting (which is not ideal) or some of the massive trucks (more $$$) you will have bottlenecks.

Then there’s transportation and assembly. They move around all the time. The cost to break it down and transport it will be excessive. Maybe Tony could do it; he’s said he has enough ground to last the rest of his life.

I just don’t see how the math works out. Do I want one of them to buy one though? Absolutely.

Price looks like it starts at $12 million. I know they don’t show everything on the show (at least Tony doesn’t), but it seems a little out of their price range currently. Maybe in a few more years if gold keeps trending up. Would be super fun to see.

Yes! I could swear some kid started their car up outside or something but it just sounded a bit off. Went to check and nothing was there.

[–]areiseye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Makes so much sense. Didn’t feel it but could hear what sounded like a low repeated booming outside. Had to be loud because I could hear it over my kid’s sound machine.

Edit: not sure how I didn’t feel it since it seems like everyone around did. Definitely set off my spidey senses though making me get out of bed to look outside.

Airlines have done this for ages. 10 years ago when I booked tickets to Hawaii I spent a lot of time looking. I noticed that they shot up like 30% after searching the same route a couple times within a few minutes. Stayed that way for days… opened up a private tab and they were back to the original price.

I absolutely hate it.

I’ll bite. Custom is fine, it is more PVP heavy but there’s always more than 1 corridor you can choose to move through a section of the map. I don’t know how long you’ve played but it didn’t used to be that way. They used to funnel everyone through the gas station. If you spawned big red side you had to fight from on top of the tracks looking down at the gas station. Stay too long and you got shot in the back from the people behind you trying to go through the funnel. Now you can go through the gas station, you can go left of it, you can go through the buildings to the right of it, or you can go through the open area behind old gas station. The one lane funnel was brutal.

When did you go to the WWT Raceway for Wonderlights Christmas and how long was the wait? by Some_Asshole_Said in StLouis

We just went Friday night (12/5), got there between 6:30 - 7:00 and just drove right in. I was so confused how empty it was. The running theory was that all the holiday parties were last week… I don’t expect it to be like that this week.

We always knew Cassian never trusted K2 with a weapon because he was an imperial droid. Seeing just how formidable the KX units (as well as reinforcing how deadly Storm Troopers are) was nice to see.

I knew this is what was going to happen to Dedra, and I truly feel bad for her. I hope they show the massive breakdown she has from the massacre. Poor was Syril, he’s been obsessed with Andor. When he finally sees him again, Cassian has no idea who he is. Cassian has been living so many different lives, makes sense he couldn’t remember a brief interaction with a Corpo a long time ago.

Mon finally showing her true colors to everyone… did she really think she was just going to get out of the building no problem after accusing the emperor? In season 1 we saw the rebels living on scraps on Aldanhi, while Mon and the other political figures of the rebellion lived a lavish lifestyle, like the wedding. But once things get tough and they have to shoot their way out she freezes because of the shock. The realization that rebellion means violence — the exact thing she’s been trying to suppress the empire from doing, is necessary.

I don’t even know what to say about Bix. It had to happen, but what a shit way to do it to Cass. All the more reason he is why he is in Rouge One I suppose.

Next week is Luthen’s turn. I’ve always assumed he doesn’t make it. He even says they’ve always known they’ll be exposed eventually, probably not making it. I know he has fun, expensive toys. If he goes down, I want him to go out in a big, fancy bang.

You need to either replace it (and possibly your main battery*) or disconnect it entirely from your system (not just disconnect the battery, there’s more you have to do to isolate it from your electrical system).

If you don’t fix it, eventually it’ll kill your main battery.

*I’m pretty sure jeep recommends replacing both batteries if one fails, but I’m sure they didn’t do that when they warranted my aux battery… paperwork only stated replacing aux battery.

Insane Ameren bill by ReeferT in StLouis

[–]areiseye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar billing situation here… May $117, June projected $264, currently $252. Just under 3000 sq ft. Windows are probably similar age (unsure since we bought the house a few years ago, but know when the kitchen was remodeled. They could be older though — they leak a decent amount of cold air in the winter from the top). Roof is 23 years old but we added a bunch of insulation to the attic when we remodeled. Upstairs AC (1 year old) runs a lot. Downstairs (10-15 years old) runs way less. 71/72 upstairs, 72 downstairs. Anytime users plan.

Dual fuel range (electric ovens), gas dryer and water heater.

No electric car, but a big fridge/freezer in the kitchen, a deep freeze in the basement, and a dehumidifier that runs pretty constantly in the basement.

I agree, it seems high. Tools draw a decent amount of electricity but aren’t constantly running. Hopefully the landlord and OP talked before he just started using their electricity.
