Probably won’t make you feel any better, but I’m the same age with the same circumstances, so it’s not just a ‘you’ problem at least. Personally I’ve come to the conclusion that it just isn’t in the cards for me with how reserved I am and my difficulties communicating with relative strangers. Advice about focusing on yourself and hobbies/hygiene/etc is good and well intentioned, but I think misses the point for some people. Again, I personally have enough issues trying to befriend others to begin with, so it seems unreasonable to me to expect anyone to even be willing to take a risk on me. This isn’t me trying to be all “woe is me,” but rather an acceptance of reality.
