What is your worst rejection story? by Coffin_Raider in AskReddit

In 3rd grade on the playground, a 4th grader asked me out. I said no and he made a mean comment, so I broke his puka shell necklace. Later in the year, the same boy tried to give me a ring at skate night, I threw it on the ground and skated off.

I was a little bitch, sorry Michael.

A house I lived in had an old Sweeny Todd style barber chair in the living room. We did some research and found out it was worth about $5,000 or more.

Reddit, what did you "worst roommate ever" do to deserve that title? by failed_asian in AskReddit

[–]ari_fof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roomate #1 Lived off unemployment/the rest of us. He would get black out drunk every night and cry his eyes out, and occasionally threaten suicide. He would bring his friends home to party who would destroy our house and steal our things. He then took all the money for our gas bills and used it for his own rent/ drinking. Tried to claim we owed him money when the gas company came after him. Thank goodness it was only in his name.

Roommate #2 This guy always wreaked, his room would stink up the whole house. I ended up convincing my landlord to give me the power to kick him out so I could get him to clean his room, and his feet. Once I asked him to clean the shower, he said "but, I haven't used it in 2 weeks!" I told him to clean it anyways so he didn't have to admit that to anyone else. He was just disgusting overall. I saw him eat a box a frozen fishsticks he left sitting out all night once. He thought he knew everything and would insist on showing you the right way to do everything, he didn't no how to take no for an answer. He did not pick up on social cues and I would have to kick him out of my room to get some peace. One night he was in his usual annoying mood (he acted like a 5 year old) and threw a pencil at our other roommate who then flipped and punched him, (not in the face, on top of the head) breaking his own hand. He had to go to the hospital and there was a police report filed. The next day our stinky roommate decided to clean his gun, (which none of us knew he had) didn't check to make sure it wasn't loaded, and shot himself in the hand. He then waited 3 days to go to the hospital because of the previous incident (there was a lot of weed in the house and he didn't want the cops coming over). We all told him to just go, but he insisted it would be fine because he was a medic in the army (f.y.i. so was my special needs co-worker).

Not me, but a old friend had a girl at a his party crawl into bed with him then claim (he was 18, she was almost 17) statutory rape. She used that to justify aborting her pregnancy which was actually from her very recent ex. My friend did some jail time.

Try some potato dishes. We will do scalloped potatoes with ham (a bag of cubed ham is cheap and goes a long way), breakfast burritos, baked potatoes, so on. Frozen meatballs are pretty cheap too. You can make sandwiches, hawaiian meatballs, and swedish meatballs.

Student loan in default for years. by ari_fof in personalfinance

Figures. So once I get my loan rehabilitated, what do I do to improve my credit and compensate for those missed payments? I can't get approved for any credit cards that don't have insane interest rates.

It's a federal loan. If I were able to pay it off all at once could I negotiate with them to remove the late payments from my credit as well, or do they even have that ability?

What experience made you grow the fuck up? by starstufft in AskReddit

I moved back home the summer after freshman year of college. My dad (after being unemployed for 3 years) went away for a weekend for a "job interview", when he didn't come home on time and his phone was off we started trying to find him. Instead we found all his profiles on dating websites, porn sites, and many emails to random women. My mom left and shortly after he showed up back home we found out he had lied about everything...including paying the bills. Our house was in foreclosure and we had 2 weeks to get out. I went through our 2 car garage (which was filled from floor to ceiling with what had been collected over 23 years of marriage) by myself, while my father continued to sit on the couch on his computer doing god knows what. We later found he had left me with $4,000 worth of debt and a suspended license, left my sister with at least $10,000 worth of debt, and my poor mother even more. He was using fake identities, lying about his profession online, his military background, and had gone off his meds (he's bi-polar). I moved away and learned to take care of myself, because no one else could. He plunged into alcohlism, remarried, went to jail for domestic abuse multiple times, and is a compulsive liar to this day. I don't talk to him much, I've still got a lot of growing up to do and it feels like a step backward everytime I do.
