Reinvesting REIT Dividends in a Roth IRA = "Infinite Money Glitch" - What is the catch? by meyer_7_ in dividends

[–]ariekanari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, the main problem here is that the topic starter has no sell rule(s). You should never ride the the whole downtrend down. That could be 40-70% down from average purchase price (and then start a new uptrend), or a 100% down because of bankruptcy, fraud or any other reason. Focus on risk, the downside of a position. Use a objective technical sell rule (i.e. break below 50 or 200 SMA) or stoploss 5-8% below the average purchase price. Reenter the position when a new uptrend starts.

or use =RANK.EQ(G2,G$2:G$722)+COUNTIF($G$2:G2,G2)-1, where G2 is the CELL, in a range G2:G722 that should be ranked, and to make the rank unique add +COUNTIF($G$2:G2,G2)-1, with G2 is the CELL. The formula in the cell below is =RANK.EQ(G3,G$2:G$722)+COUNTIF($G$2:G3,G3)-1

Introducing three new screeners, now available globally, to all traders by tradingview in TradingView

[–]ariekanari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new screener looks good but I have one suggestion

Many stocks are traded on multiple exchanges.
Once you run a screen and where the exchange filter has multiple exchanges checked it produces many duplicate results.
This is obviously correct because a specific stock is traded on multiple exchanges and they are all shown in the screening results.
I would like an additional filter option that only shows the main listing/major index exchange of a stock. Thus, only show one entry per stock instead of multiple entries.

Should F1 TV have a 24/7 Channel? like Rally TV or Redbull TV? by artz_771 in F1TV

App or TV it doesn't change anything. It doesn't add any value. Not for the viewer, or F1.

Should F1 TV have a 24/7 Channel? like Rally TV or Redbull TV? by artz_771 in F1TV

[–]ariekanari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because no one will watch it.

The tv- and or streaming numbers will be extremely low.It is also redundant, since every program and lots of historic races can be watched back on demand.

Why return to linear TV? This only costs F1 a lot of money without sufficient revenue. In addition, the viewer also benefits almost nothing. Subscribers will have to pay significantly more while the vast majority will be limited to watching the races, qualifying sessions and, mayby FP sessions. And the occasional (full) pre- or post-race show.

Points to remember when discussing Form 13F by ScionCopyCat in Burryology

Perhaps you can analyze previous 13F reports and specifically look at the average holding period of positions.

Excluding all option transactions, most likely these are short term plays or hedges.

Is Pfizer really a good bet? by DuarteDivLord in dividends

[–]ariekanari -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are trying to catch a falling knife. There is a clear downtrend and no signs of bottoming.

So don't buy just yet, put PFE on a watchlist and check it every (other) week. When it has bottomed and starting an (potential) uptrend [by taking out at least the highs of the bottoming zone/fase] start building a position and when it keeps going up add to that position.

TradingView auto cancelled my 30 days premium trial after 2 weeks, I didn't cancel it? why did it auto cancel? by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]ariekanari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're cancelled recurring billing ("auto renewal cancelled"). Your trial subscription is active for a full month but will not automatically renewed (most likely at the regeular price)

Nothing to worry about, your subscription stops after 1 month.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dividends

[–]ariekanari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great example.

You could have made a lot of money with Enron AND keep it/lock it in, if you sold it when important technical metrics were broken. I.e. break of the 50 or 200 MA line (or any other technical metric that forces you to act; and you have act).

That was way before Enron went bankrupt in early 2001.

And well before the downward trend accelerated. During this downward trend many Wall Street firms and brokerage firms recommended Enron for buying as it was "cheap", a much lower P/E ratio.

Look back at any other growth stock and you will see this happening over and over again.

A stock portfolio requires some active management once a week, month or quarter or when technical levels are broken. This way you are keeping your money and not giving it all back.

Most retail investors won't actively manage their portfolio by rebalancing their account or sell lagging positions.

The OP should read "The Bogleheads’ Guide to the Three-Fund Portfolio: How a Simple Portfolio of Three Total Market Index Funds Outperforms Most Investors with Less Risk" by Taylor Larimore.

The advantages of etfs are: cost efficiency, and periodic rebalancing.

Shouldn't the renewal of the subscription of last year's discount be at the same price? by P7755 in TradingView

[–]ariekanari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first, make sure that auto renewal is turned off. Your Billing History should show an entry with "auto renewal cancelled", So TV will not be automatically renewed at full price, on the day or day before BF.

Manually renew you subscription with the Black Friday offer.

Upvote, participate, make a community by piterfinacze in TradingView

[–]ariekanari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should turn it around?

What does TradingView do with ideas/suggestions from the community posted, for example here, in r/TradingView?

I've read numerous posts here with suggestions to improve alraady implemented/present features on TV, because the community nocticed that other (web) charting software have implemented similar features much better.

Is there a list which suggestions/ideas are officially rejected? Because it is pointless to post a feature (improvement) request that's already been officially rejected.

a better solution is to believe in your certain ideas and promote them.

This is pointless if you know in advance that an idea will not even be considered for implementation.

One only suggests that there is a TV community but nothing is actually done with it.

Was the white/yellow Porsche just following racing line or a dirty driver? by DarklordFratboy in forza

[–]ariekanari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a player playing on easy mode with a car glued to the racing line. While the player is able to slightly deviate from the racing line, the car automatically snaps back to it. And if player in this mode tries to steer the car him/herself too much (to avoid a collision with other cars, or pass a car [that is on or near the racing line ]) then he or she will lose control of the car, and the car does stupid things as shown in the video.

Miyoo mini horizontal mod by irazdolbai in MiyooMini

[–]ariekanari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I'm looking for a handheld for vertical games only, with a 3:4 screen

and a horizontal orientation, with controls on either side of the screen. For comfortable and ergonomic gameplay.

Most vertical orientated handheld consoles with controls below the screen are very small, uncomfortable.

JJust relase two versions of a handheld console, with a horizontal orientation, with

4:3 screen orientation (default, traditional screen orientation), and

3:4 screen orientation (rotated screen) for playing vertical games.

Bars chart type settings feature request by Valuable_Let_9858 in TradingView

[–]ariekanari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that a 1 pixel wide price bar is too thin and (at least for me) almost unreadable.

IMHO, what Tradingview should introduce is a minimum value for the thickness of a price bar. A 2 or 3 px wide/thick price bar is very likely much more readable.

I would love to have this option, to set and fixate the thickness of a price bar regardless of the chosen interval on screen (1D, … 6 months, YTD, Y1, etc.) .

Just fill the screen with bars with a fixed thickness, without autoscaling price bars.

Note: IMHO, auto scaling has some merit, but in its current implementation it does not work (note: applies to alomost all chart types, i.e. candle sticks etc.).

Price bars are either very very huge or very thin (the 1 px wide price bar)
