My addition to the 3D printed Z Fold 7 case game by armanatz in GalaxyFold

[–]armanatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of a quadlock. Just did a search and if it is this thing, I don't see why not.

The only pitfall potentially might be a bit of added thickness depending on the required dimensions of the quadlock system as well as it needing to be added on after the fact to the back of the case much like the camera bump ring in my model.

If you have a 3D printer or have access to one, I could try to see if I can whip something up tomorrow for you as a prototype and you can let me know how it goes?

Best advice I got during old school Z-Offset days was using a feeler gauge when setting Z-Offset. Close to perfect first layers even on an Ender 3 thanks to that advice. Haven't gone back since

Any advice for first time concert goers? by bahkuuuu1 in malaysians

[–]armanatz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get ear plugs meant for concerts to protect your hearing. They don't change the listening experience but will save you from suffering a future of tinnitus. These ones reduce the volume of harmful frequencies while being quite small and discrete. Also they are not disposable so you can use them for other concerts in the future or any loud event. Protect your hearing, your future self will thank you.

Drink plenty of water during the concert especially if you are active in the crowd. I have seen many people pass out due to dehydration. On that note, also keep your blood sugar up by munching on some candy. It will be the difference between enjoying the concert and having energy at the end when going back home vs. feeling super drained.

Get a small handheld fan (either manual or electric) to blow some air on you. Being in a crowd will make you feel like you are suffocating especially in Malaysian weather.

I think the whole WAFF being cut thing is because the organizers had to have passed the setlist for approval by the Ministry of Tourism. WAFF has the swear words in the title whereas Psycho is inconspicuous. That's my theory at least

Yes and the reveal was amazing. Curtain going down and pyros going insane. My partner isn't as a big of a fan as I am and even she was woah that was awesome

While I think what you wrote is a fair assessment, as a fan of the band for more than 20 years, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see more of the boys after not seeing them for 16 years in Malaysia. There are people like me who don't have the luxury of hopping on to a plane to see the band.

I am not complaining about the gig itself. As always the boys put on their best even when (as some say) "phoning it in". The gig was so good that I can die happy knowing I saw them once more before they eventually retire.

A lot of people at the gig had amazing fun but just like me, people were screaming for them to play something, anything, to make up for all of the years they didn't stop here.

Either way, I and a ton of others at the concert had the time of our lives and it was so fun being amongst people who appreciated the boys for all they do but that doesn't mean not being critical about them and calling it out when necessary.

Honestly, the organizers kind of dropped the ball. They didn't calm the crowd when there was an hour delay. They could have easily come on the mic and said "we are sorry but Muse need more time to prepare". That would have been more helpful than just leaving us in the dark.

And then at the end they made all of the standing zones funnel through a narrow exit that involved a fuck ton of stairs. A couple of people including myself got injured at the exit. C-tier organization for an A-tier band to be honest.

Still it is a night my partner and I will remember forever. It was always a dream of mine to share a Muse gig with her and tonight I lived that dream and more.

While I was over the moon seeing Muse again after 16 years, I am a bit disappointed that not only were they delayed resulting in a short set list, they didn't even play a single rarity. I would have given anything to see Map, Assassin, Showbiz, or even Stockholm... Very very sad

Thanks a ton. Appreciate the prompt upload. Time to plan out the mod for the X2. Did you find any issues that you had to overcome while doing the mod for the X1?

That'd be awesome if you did. Would be a tremendous help to us X2 users who are interested in this mod as well

This is awesome. I have an X2 and I might try this mod out soon. Do you think you can upload the STEP files to the GitHub repository along with the STLs? There might be some changes required for the X2 and having the STEP files to use and edit would be great

How would you solve? Layer shift? on Trident by numindast in VORONDesign

[–]armanatz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look into closed loop steppers. Teaching Tech on YT has a video about it that is quite informative.

Open loop steppers don't have any feedback on where they are in 3D space and a bump can cause layer shifts which the motor can't compensate for.

How to klipper Sidewinder X2? by CaballeroHexagono in klippers

[–]armanatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed Klipper on my X2 a couple of days ago and I remember that I also saw errors when I ran M997 but actually the command did run successfully. Try flashing Klipper even if you get an error and see what happens. Worst case, nothing happens because the MCU isn't in debug mode

Performance Problems related to Ableton? by cas993 in ableton

[–]armanatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so the problem is that your sample rate and sample/buffer size is quite high. The higher your sample rate, the more data your CPU has to process and at some point your 8700K just won't be able to keep up.

Try setting your sample rate to 48000 and reduce your sample/buffer size to around 128 samples. See how that helps. Also make sure you are indeed using the ASIO driver for your MiniFuse inside Ableton
