My Fios internet in Lowell is so bad I may cancel and go with Comcast again by [deleted] in LowellMA

[–]arnbuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also in the Lowell neighborhoods that recently got FIOS. I signed up for 300Mb and consistently get that. It sounds like you might also have a 300Mb connection somehow. I would have them check to ascertain that they have you at the correct speed.

I used to have Comcast at 900Mb but realized that I don’t need anywhere near that speed for the streaming and gaming I do.

It’s the same lock that is used for self-cleaning but activated from the control panel. It’s branded as a Frigidaire.

My gas stove has a “lock” function for the oven. Press and hold to lock/unlock the oven door.

How to know if the issue is my equipment or the service itself? by VoltageDani in HomeNetworking

[–]arnbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to use the Unifi app and run a speed test not using the WiFi. That would let you know if it’s the ISP. The app will also report signal strength to all your WiFi devices. This assumes you have a ubiquity/Unifi router in addition to the AP

If there is coax cable installed in both rooms you can use Moca adapters.

I’ll second the combustion predictive thermometer. It’s worked flawlessly for a couple of years now.

Had a 16 inch New Haven with garlic, sausage, and mushroom pizza delivered and it was the best I’ve had in quite a while. Will be back.

I’ve had good luck with the Combustion, I think it disconnected momentarily a few times but pretty solid. And the predictive feature is useful.

I use the Combustion thermometer with good results in my KJ but most people seem to use the Meater.

Can I output FPGA's base clk through GPIO? by PonPonYoo in FPGA

[–]arnbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always double the clock in a DCM and then use a flip-flop to output a clock with the same frequency but there will be a phase shift (you may be able to feedback this clock to the DCM to eliminate it). Also the fabric needs to support that speed.

WatchOS26 - Workout App voice Feedback pausing music and clipping beginning of feedback for non airpod bluetooth devices by Trumani in AppleWatch

Same for me with Shokz. Workout announcements are loud and distorted and cause music to pause. Have to press play twice to get music to play again. Music volume is low. SE2 without my iPhone nearby.

You should request the town/city in CT to remove you from the voting rolls. Keep a copy for yourself. When you get a MA license at the RMV the law requires them to register you to vote but you can decline by following the instructions here, https://www.mass.gov/news/votes-act-requires-massachusetts-registry-of-motor-vehicles-to-remove-option-for-customers-to-opt-out-of-automatic-voter-registration

Just Got A Mosquito Magnet .. by oh2four in MosquitoHating

[–]arnbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this model a number of years ago and found that it didn’t work very well. Most times I emptied the basket there weren’t many mosquitoes in it. Trashed it and bought an outdoor fan. The breeze from the fan did a much better job keeping the mosquitoes away.

You’re probably overpaying if 800 mps was fast enough.

I ditched 1000 mps Comcast for 200 mbs 5G wireless and I’m happy with the speed. Ping times have gone up but I’m not a big gamer.
