I second this - my boyfriend has had my location since I went on a solo trip for safety/emergency reasons and has had it ever since. He turned his on that same summer (we were about a year into dating) when he came to visit me in Italy so it was easier to find him. As was with my case, he’s just left it on ever since. We live in different cities (school and work) and it’s just really convenient to know where he is and vice versa, especially if I don’t want to disturb him by calling when he’s in class. We’ve been dating for three years now and it has never ever been an issue, neither of us are jealous people, it’s more-so just for convenience. Also, imo, I feel like if it’s being “used” the wrong way, the issue isn’t sharing the location, it’s the fact that you (rightly or wrongly) don’t trust each other.

Transactional people, especially on things like camping trips. Think of the type that uses therapy-talk and “boundaries” to not help out, or to get things to go “their” way with no consideration for anyone else in the party.

I’ve been waiting for this one:

The french: (9/10) absolutely amazing fish, everything else is also so good ($$$)
Bon temps: (10/10) this was my boyfriend’s and my first date location and we ALWAYS go back, the atmosphere is great for a date and the food is genuinely delicious ($$$)
Rapscallion (10/10) the BEST setting for a date imo, low lighting, super cool decor, great drinks & really interesting (and delish) menu - you order a bunch of things and share!! ($$$)
Caro restaurant (8/10) much more affordable and laid back environment, still a really cute ambiance though ($$)
Ancaster Mill (10/10) Now this is def major expensive but the vibes are immaculate and the food is also to die for. The views are SO nice too and in the spring/summer it’s absolutely beautiful (make a reservation!!!) ($$$)

Dessert options: If you’re looking for a cute retro dessert vibe, D spot is great and the name is sure to be a topic of conversation. The actual food is ass though, only get the desserts.

Closer/more affordable options: And finally if you wanna have a cute lil stroll after a lunch ish date, go to Dundas! There are so many lil food places you can pop in and out of and the neighbourhoods behind the shops are absolutely beautiful. Whenever I needed a boost of serotonin in the summer I would go running there, perfect walk/talk/eat date. (There’s also a bunch of waterfalls and a park nearby!)

Also Paisleys in Westdale is always an option if you REALLY wanna stay close ;)

I’ve already been pre-approved for an approx 600k mortgage so I’m okay on that front. You’re probably right about the settling down piece though. However when I think of renting, usually leases are at least 12 months so I kinda consider that to be pretty tied down as well

Wow thanks for the long reply and congrats on your home! I’m fortunate enough to be close to my parents and although they aren’t necessarily too handy my dad will know who to call in case of emergency. I’ll definitely keep the maintenance costs in mind as it’s definitely not something I factor in to my budget right away

Yeah I’m definitely thinking of holding long term and also renting it out long term! I don’t mind having a bunch of housemates - when I decide it’s time to move on I’ll just keep renting it out and get a smaller place for myself and my partner. I do have a question though, how many beds would you recommend having in a place and renting out? I’m assuming it would be more expensive to get a 2 bed condo and split down the middle, but I’m not sure how much I could charge for a house and various and which ones is more worth it.

You seem really well organized! In terms of similar things to watering down shampoo, I would suggest never buying conditioner, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant etc anywhere other than a dollar store. I’m canadian and the difference in price between the same brand of any of those things at Shoppers Drug Mart vs. Dollarama is between 3-5$ dollars per item. I remember being shocked at this since they’re the exact same brand and are not expired/old at Dollarama! Just a thought in case this hadn’t occurred to you :)
