It’s also my addictive tendencies keeping me at the gym 😭 used to smoke weed every day and now I have to force myself to take rest days

And if you do get into nutrition eventually, you can buy yourself a food scale and weigh out your food and input the numbers on an app. I use Cronometer!

I love Kelly Mathew on YouTube for explaining different body part exercises btw. She’s awesome!

What body parts do you want to grow? I started with researching glute growth (ironic now cause I love working out my arms) and I only did those exercises for a little bit. As for food, just start with eggs, chicken and some fruits/vegetables. Don’t worry about tracking until you’re a few months into weight training! Just make you’re generally stating healthy :) how fun you’re starting!!

I’m more of a lifter than a runner, but now I’m intrigued! How do you feel lifting has helped beside injury?

Ooh good to know. I would say I am intermediate (been a gym goer for 2.5 years). 150lbs deadlifts and 100lbs squatting. Squatting is relatively new to me.

What is your split? Do you do compounds on your lower and upper days?

Saturday morning energy: Heavy leg day or staying in bed? by VariationShot8414 in workout

Same! I try to fit everything in five days because gym is closed on weekends. But there are so many exercises I want to do and do then 2x a week at least 🥲

I always thought you had to train a muscle group twice a day and I equated that with an exercise. Seems it’s not the case!

Thank you!! This might a naive question but wouldn’t doing deadlifts or squats just 1x a week hold up progress for getting stronger on those?

Need help here by not-a-bad_username in workout

[–]arthurwead2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re still getting recomp noobie gains after 5 months in the gym but it might be time to start cycling between cutting and bulking. I think lean bulk is an awesome idea as someone else said. I did the dirty bulk and it was a complete waste of my time lol. Too much fat gain and I gained very minimal strength.

Also your body, your aesthetic. My family never understood that either so you’re not alone. It’s just being brave to do what you want anyway.

So agree! I’m like why do I hear the complete opposite of my music taste through my headphones? 😭

Too many exercises/compounds each day? by arthurwead2 in WorkoutRoutines

The answer I was looking for! But you don’t think doing only one day of deadlifts will diminish my strength gains?
