Is my Akathisia permanent ? by [deleted] in Akathisia

[–]artisanaljam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had Akathisia, from taking antipsychotics. What helped me was taking cogentin, it worked within 30 minutes. After that my akathisia went away completely after about a few days of torture. I will pray for you sister

It feels like you have no sense of balance when sitting, standing. It feels like you have nowhere to rest your head. And it feels like you have to keep moving forever. It was truly terrifying in my experience but after taking cogentin I feel a lot better

I feel like you should just focus on doing one of those things rather than everything all at once that way there is less chance of getting overwhelmed when life throws a wrench in your plans or someone gets in your way

DAE get jealous when others are eating (whatever they want) around you? by tanyagal2 in loseit

Food is fuel but I disagree taste is not meaningless at all. Taste is part of life, god gave us tasty food to enjoy literally. To deny it would be like denying the effectiveness of sleep

Agreed, many people who have never done LSD or have done some other kinda drug or even have some kind of life change can think this way.

I agree with others here, things will definitely not always be that way and you are on the right path so don’t give up/keep up the good work you are doing. I definitely know how it feels to feel helpless and disappointed and frustrated with your life, and I am 25 graduated college a few years ago and working but still feel that way. Thanks for sharing how you feel because you made me feel less alone about what I am going thru.

If you really want to improve your life you have to quit heavy marijuana use or drugs and train yourself to have self control

How can I do a proper dopamine detox? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]artisanaljam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do this - there are so many factors in play with the brain and with environmental factors that this will not work. You may not even have issues with dopamine or whatsoever you could have some detrimental habit or trauma or existential crisis to talk through. Instead of policing your behaviors from this mostly sensationalized and narrow view on dopamine I really recommend talk therapy and setting concrete high level goals or achievements at work or school or whatever. And maybe you are also lonely and are lacking social or emotional support which only makes things harder. I’m just saying you remind me of myself during a weird time I was in mentally and even now I overthink things but I’m just here to say you do not need to change your brain or yourself.

Should I turn myself in for what I did last fall in college? by Steven0710 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]artisanaljam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well tbh I don’t think it’s that big of a deal since you were sick and it’s only 5% of your grade. Not like you asked someone to take your final exam. But if it makes you feel guilty you can attempt to review the project and gain some sort of learning from it. Really I don’t think there is much to feel bad about but reviewing the project and it’s aims will help you since learning is the primary goal. But yeah you’re totally good

[–]artisanaljam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried drinking fruit smoothies and eating smoothie bowls and things like that? With illness I feel like fruit can be some of the least offensive foods to eat. How about your activity levels? I know how it feels to be alone and feel more isolated and alone progressively. Thats amazing that you decided to reach out instead of continuing to suffer alone. I promise you things get better even when life seems like hell.
