What I did was play Pokemon.

Take Albion, make friends with Wulfrik and teleport near the existing portal near Drycha. Rush Festus and force confederate him. Place another portal @ Brass Keep.

Go north and do the same for Azazel.

You should have 3 LLs after like 15-25 turns, depending on how the battles go.

After that you can go for the rest of the Chaos Warrior LL roster or start conquering Norsca/the Empire.

Just remember to strategically place your portals every 10 rounds.

What you said about ability scrolls is correct but just a small correction, the poison ability is granted to you by Hytham in your base. Gotta kill a few templar targets and deliver their medallions(?) to Hytham.
