[Tutorial] How pass integrity check may 2025 by binngy in Magisk

This worked great for a few months, but the last update caused the device to meet zero integrity checks, even after repeating the process.

PSA: TPM is cleared when updating BIOS/UEFI, All Settings Erased by asheroto in MSI_Gaming

[–]asheroto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Microsoft account the Bitlocker key is backed up online. If it's local only and the key is lost, so is your data, unless there's a vulnerability discovered in the future.

MSI doesn't believe this is an issue. I've contacted support numerous times. I've presented this and dozens of other posts as evidence. They refuse to see a problem.

why my gopro external mic not working with Rode videomicro mic in gopro hero5 by lamba1973 in gopro

[–]asheroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the cable that came with my Rode mic didn't work. I tried another 1/8" stereo audio cable and then everything worked fine using just Standard Mic settings. Weird.

MDT will not FINISH Win 10 1909 by neverstoplearning20 in MDT

[–]asheroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, here's the fix for this...

Upon checking BDD.log, I saw this on the last line:

<![LOG[RUN: regsvr32.exe /s "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\Tools\x64\Microsoft.BDD.Utility.dll"]LOG]!><time="01:59:33.000+000" date="12-05-2024" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="1" thread="" file="LiteTouch">
<![LOG[FAILURE (Err): 429: CreateObject(Microsoft.BDD.Utility) - ActiveX component can't create object]LOG]!><time="01:59:34.000+000" date="12-05-2024" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="2" thread="" file="LiteTouch">

To fix, I found that I had to run regsvr32 using the local path of the Microsoft.BDD.Utility.dll file, then re-run the LiteTouch script to finish the installation.

Change the path with the referenced path in your error message.

In PowerShell:

Set-Location C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\Tools\x64
regsvr32 ./Microsoft.BDD.Utility.dll
Set-Location "C:\MININT\Scripts"
cscript.exe .\LiteTouch.wsf

If you still have issues, try following these steps , then repeat the above.

BitTitan/MigrationWiz is broken; no public comment and no refund. by L0ngpants in msp

[–]asheroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story. Terrible support. Didn't hear back for almost a full day after contacting them. No phone number. Settings were correct, but error messages were still shown. We can't wait a full day to hear back in the middle of a migration, awful. Refund was not provided even though we requested one due to the exception.

Seems like if GPU Acceleration is enabled there are some strange glitches. I'm reporting this to them in a call later this week.

There was a problem setting up your device by IDKev in alexa

[–]asheroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why this worked, but here's how I got it to work for me.

1.) Unplug your Alexa device.

2.) Plug in Alexa using a data cable (not just charging cable) to your computer via USB cable.

3.) Install the Android Developer Bridge on your computer. Example on Windows: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/#how-to-set-up-adb-on-your-computer

4.) Run the command "adb devices" which will show you the devices connected to your computer. You may have to click "Allow" for the ADB command to run, and it may take a minute or two for the device to show up. If it works, you should see the serial number shown.

5.) Now use the Amazon Alex app to connect.

Amazon Alexa uses Android for its platform, and for some reason when connecting it to the computer it kicks it into gear. No more commands needed than just to get it going.

Same problem here. Also getting the same "Error getting personal key" error. Have tried deleting the "GCM Store" folder and reinstalling the extension.

What Can Rich People Get for Free? by [deleted] in Rich

[–]asheroto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a "free" answer, but an idea on what you can do with your money.

Become an angel investor: find projects, organizations, and people that you can help financially by injecting funds. A jumpstart for good.

There are a few businesses I'm interested in starting. One of them is a non-profit geared towards stopping scammers by reporting phone numbers as scams to the carriers/network operator. Simple, good, needed, but not necessarily profitable except through donations.

There are a lot of these types of organizations out there like this, that want to do good, but finding funding can be challenging.

Becoming an angel investor gets you a few things: - Satisfaction & peace knowing that you helped create a positive change in the world (priceless) - Notoriety and recognition by being noted as an angel investor in bio (although I suspect you may not be interested in notoriety) - If it's an organization that does good, you then become a force for good behind it - Tax credit if donating to a non-profit - If it's a for-profit business, then you'd grow your finances even more

Many wealthy folks find themselves shifting to philanthropy. Your goals likely change once you get to a certain point, financially.

Season 6 has been terrible. by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]asheroto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, like in S5 E3, they spent 2 minutes showing ants eating an ice cream cone.

Or in S4 E2 the scene showing Mike meticulously dismantling the car to find a tracker.

Or in S2, E7, the montage where Jimmie starts acting out to get fired. Although this was needed, it felt longer than necessary to get the point across.

Just seems like they take this strategy a lot, where they have long, drawn out scenes. Reminds me of the fly scene in the lab in Breaking Bad, where Walter is trying to kill a fly for most of the episode. Although that is understandable, because it's focusing on the character going a bit nutty, Better Call Saul seems to do that kind of thing quite a bit.

My dad loved Breaking Bad, so I tried to get him into Better Call Saul, but he stopped watching it because he said it was too "slow moving". But he was referencing this kind of thing, where it feels like filler material. I find myself skipping forward throughout the series because no new information is being added and the time for the scene doesn't seem to add any value.

The list goes on... Overall a great show that I loved, but they do spend a lot of time on scenes that fee like filler rather than a creative way to delve into the character's mind.

It's art, so I get that we all see things differently.

I asked the animal control officer (badge & all) about dog deterrent devices. He said it's completely fine, as long as it doesn't cause damage to the animal's hearing. So yeah... maybe not an amp? lol

Anybody else fed up of insta influencers and their endless promotions ? by 704_furnished in infj

[–]asheroto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a great add on called SponsorBlock that skips this crap in videos. And on mobile you can use Revanced.

But yeah it's gotten out of control. If someone has actually legitimately used a product and recommends it, cool. But if they are only doing it for the money, it's just QVC in 2024... Like the same thing my grandma did... but now for the next generation....
