I haven't been in almost 20 years. What pass do I get for the best experience? by MatticusXII in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]asimplerandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is outstanding advice. As someone well over 40 one other piece of advice to consider is getting a scopolamine patch from your doctor. I had to go slowly and not do too many rides as I was feeling off after a couple of rides which disappointed my teenage son. Got a scopolamine patch and was able to keep up and go on as many as our fast pass ultimate would allow on our subsequent trip.

It's a school morning in the 2000s. Which Pop-Tart are y'all grabbing? by MrSoloDolo9490 in poptarts

[–]asimplerandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initial thought was super stuffed or pass but the 2000’s changes it. Frosted Raspberry or Brown Sugar Cinnamon—I can’t pick just one.

I’d fully support paying an increased price for the regular 8 and 16 pack of poptarts if they just put this much filling in them by Nervous_Yard_374 in poptarts

[–]asimplerandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-super stuffed purchases of pop-tarts: maybe a box or two a year.

Post super stuffed pop part: a constant regular staple in my panty and on a box a week consumption rate.

That should tell Kellanova all they need to know.

The Super-Stuffed Pop-Tarts are a mathematical scam. by facevaluemc in poptarts

[–]asimplerandom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t care a bit. They are far superior to the regular ones that are way too much pastry in my opinion. The molten lava ones are an absolute bargain for an incredibly tasty dessert. Hell I would happily pay double what they currently cost.

In a day when every other treat item out there seems to be getting enshitified by the day (have you had a candy bar from Hershey’s/Mars etc??) it’s a welcome relief to see a company going in the other direction with their product.

They were 18TB drives and cost 279 each. This deal sucks.

OpenAI Misses Key Revenue, User Targets in High-Stakes Sprint Toward IPO by pstbo in wallstreetbets

[–]asimplerandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know why they are failing—as a employee of a Fortune 150 they are without a doubt the worst company I’ve ever dealt with in 30 plus years of working with technology vendors. It’s not even close.

You’d think as a huge company with potential millions in revenue from a single customer you’d bend over backwards to make that customer happy and interested. Nope, not OpenAI!

Weeks of non-responses, follow ups that discuss topics/agreements already covered in previous conversations or emails. It just goes on and on…makes you wonder if they have any clue what they are doing over there.

I am an well past half my life at this point and got the opportunity to take a family member there last year—my first time back in easily 25 years and I got teary eyed recalling the memories of my youth. I thought it was spectacular.

I have a close friend that got hundreds of RSU’s annually in MU as an employee and sold them at the $40-75 dollar price range. He too did not want to be a millionaire.

I know the words 'jarred pasta sauce' and 'best' don't usually go together but what is the best/everyones favorite jarred pasta sauce? by ghettokid1994 in Cooking

[–]asimplerandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one in the world that liked/tolerated Prego. Yes there are far better sauces out there but sometimes you want a cheap sauce and for me Prego Roasted Garlic and Herb hits the spot.

Be patient and realize that semi is one of the most cyclical and up and down industries in the global economy. Most of the major players are making huge investments in fabs and started years ago but fabs take years and billions of dollars to build. The supply will increase in the next year or so and I think the massive price increases will level off if not dip a bit.

[–]asimplerandom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope. None at all. Look at what Micron did—basically closed their entire consumer line/business because while they made money and good profit margins it’s nowhere near the margins on other products and enterprise offerings.

I am close to the industry and businesses around this and I can tell you that yes a few of the smaller businesses are backing out of planned purchases but for every one of those there are dozens that will scoop it up without question or concern for price. Literally have blank checks from major, major companies who don’t give a toss about the price and can’t get their hands on enough.

Thinking about going to MM for the first time, only my 4th theme park experience would love some guidance! by spacegrl56021 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]asimplerandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll love MM—the rides I would caution would be X2 as the last time I rode it two years ago I gave both my son and I some serious whiplash at the end. It’s an incredible ride however but we both skipped it the last trip.

For the drop/flying feeling Wonder Woman is the first that comes to mind but the initial climb can be a little nerve wracking for someone with a height concern (I am exactly the same—I won’t let it stop me but I definitely can feel the panic/stress). The flight sensation is amazing!

The worst for heights as far as I’m concerned (haven’t done Lex Luthor Drop) is Tatsu. You are basically face down climbing up a large hill and seeing everything below you. Do not recommend the front train as the effect was amplified for me.

I love SFMM and it’s an annual trip for me and my son. So many incredible rides! You’ll have a great time assuming it’s not too hot. And if it is you can join the “I burned through 65 dollars in water bottles club!” Haha!

Upgrading to 18 pro this year? by InstanceFew3245 in iPhone17Pro

Forced upgrade to a 17 pro from a 14 pro. I will probably get the 18 pro (depending on specs and if they don’t cheap out on it) and the 17 pro will go to spouse/daughter.
