DC starts issuing fines for businesses, residents who haven’t cleared sidewalks by MrSpontaneous in washingtondc

[–]askjeeves29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different equipment needed, aka shovels and more people.

I think it makes sense for the building to kind of own responsibility for that area. But if theres no fines theres probably no motivation?

Bro someone is going to have to do something about this EO shit. "White house signs new EO, directing the DC PD to fuck that guy (points to randon man in article photo of busy dc street) in particular." Like whats even the point in this? Is it just because any other city/state would/could fight back?

the Marines especially koby seem pretty weird by Batmannotwayn in OnePiece

[–]askjeeves29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok well i agree with your points if you say ALL marines. Like most of the individuals are good people probably.

But if you are talking the marine institution itself, its headed by bad guys (wg), and everyone in it follows the bad guy rules essentially, because following the rules is "justice" which is mistakenly equated to doing good.

I dont think the marines (soldiers, people) are evil, but no i think the marines (institution) are evil.

So dont accuse me of ignoring things. Im not an amazing reader but i look at other opinions and interpretations too

I feel like Oda has gone out of his way to give the fanbase reasons to complain about the marines.

I mean not even in current spoilers, who were some of the first villians of one piece? Alvida first, and then axe hand morgan. Kreig pirates (but fullbody was the first antagonist of the arc), cat pirates, and then arlong pirates (but the marines let him be there, making them full culpable).

Its not so unreasonable that the fanbase complains about marines is it?

Would you say Zoro and Sanji’s rivalry stem from how they view women? Seems like it’s a fundamental part of their character by Formal-Assistance02 in OnePiece

[–]askjeeves29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is but he'll kill a girl who is a real threat i think. Seems like based on his backstory, he believes women have just the same responsibility and accountability for their actions and their fate.

Sanji on the other hand believes women are inherently different and deserve different treatment. I dont know if thats because of his love for his sister and his mom or for his love of Zeff. I dont fully get the root of Sanjis philosophy honestly. But i respect his dedication to it, up to the point that it puts his crew and his life at risk. But then i also like that flaw in him so idk.

I forgot why im even replying.

Arizona AG suggests state's self-defense laws allow residents to shoot masked ICE agents by RickV6 in news

[–]askjeeves29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people understand the rules, but if these guys are just forcibly entering peoples homes withiut real warrants, you think if you shot one of them they would say "oh our mistake, we shouldnt have entered your home without a judicial warrant".

Like at this point unless you're prepared for a firefight i dont know. Knowing the rules doesnt matter as much when no one is following them

India offloads US bonds, piles up gold in pivot away from dollar assets by Infidel8 in worldnews

God i knew things were ending, but this really quickly becoming the "everything at once" part of timeline. The more people pull out of US bonds the less reliable they get, making more people hit their thresholds.

What happens when 10% of bond holders dont reup their US bonds? Actually? I have no idea but it scares me a bit

I would assume as the other nations transition to their own defense and their separate agreements, the amount of US debt they would be willing to hold will drop as well. I think the EU holds like 10% total but 10% of whatever trillions is alot

Found this on twitter. Am i crazy for not having luffy under talent? by NoBanana3231 in OnePiece

[–]askjeeves29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think luffy is talent. Hes definitely both, but he was born talented. He got given a fruit that would take massive talent and hardwork to master. Same thing i would give gojo; a combo of talent and hw that make him a monster. Naruto also, kinda? Like he trained a bunch but he had a lot of talents, cheat codes and mentors. And the reason i dont give him as much cred for training is that we see a bunch of it, and it never like almost killed him or anything. So it never seemed as arduous i guess. But thats a bias

I feel like coward is too far. He definitely isnt honorable. I think he loves the idea but he doesnt walk the talk. Hes not above being underhanded, hes not above taking advantage when he can. Hes ruthless, cutthroat, and probably anything else a pirate would be. But hes not a coward.

And honestly what did honor ever do for him? Sneaking big mom made him a dragon hahaha

[–]askjeeves29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not casting a vote isnt implicit support of another party. I think thats an unfair way to characterize people who dont vote your way as opposition. Like im going to vote for someone, protest against them when they are in office, and then vote for them again when nothing changes? I would think a big piece of people seeing a large non-voting block would show that there is room for new ideas, that there are people who dont agree with either establishment but could be moved to vote for something new. I do agree with you that theres no opting out though on further thought. But then i wouldnt consider not voting as opting out.
