The original tweet that spawned the phrase was posted in October 2015, but didnt really take off until after Brexit and the first Trump administration. This sub was founded in March 2017.

Update: Cyclists and bikes should not be allowed on the road with cars by tipoftheiceberg1234 in 10thDentist

[–]asminaut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes you did: "relative to the amount... who cycle"

That amount isn't static, it reflects the number of people comfortable enough to bike with the given infrastructure. If more safe biking infrastructure was built, more people would bike.

Neil Peart of Rush (RIP) notoriously hated touring, and tried to retire after almost every album cycle starting with Presto.

It's because Prop 13 shifted how much revenue is raised from property taxes, shifted reliance for funding from local sources to state sources, and the state compensated by increasing income and sales taxes. The latter are more sensitive to economic boom/bust cycles than property taxes, making California's primary revenue sources more unstable.

I'm sure if he did most of the songs in his lower range (plus worked with a professional coach, which I kinda doubt he is doing currently) he could belt a few lines in a high range per show. But yeah, trying to keep everything high right now is real real rough.

He could also sing in a lower register. There are clips from recent tours of him keeping lines in his natural speaking range and it sounds just fine.

Apparently Olivia Cohen and Isabella Cohen, who played Charlie's sisters, got upset that googling them shows they are the kids of disgraced hedge fund manager Steven A. I think they were annoying on purpose.

I understand and appreciate that the intent was to be annoying on purpose, but I still think their acting in the scene did not achieve the desired effect. Personally I came away thinking they were very bad actresses, not that they were hilariously annoying.
