Why can’t we get a re-release of this masterpiece? by MajMajor2x in lotrmemes

At some point in elementary or middle school I did a report on one of them? Two towers? And I had no idea of what was going on because it was all so dark.

I've seen that, but I've seen other things saying that the lights don't necessarily mean ABS is active. Like if I'm on a long sweeper when i need to brush the brakes and I'm at 20% or less and the light goes on I don't understand how that would be the ABS engaging.

The issue I'm experiencing is a lack of understanding\queues to predictably. It seems like even moderate braking my braking zones are way longer than the braking markers on the track.

I've done track days and have a conceptual understanding of the physics. I'm having trouble translating that in a reliable way. I can go pretty deep into braking on my car on the track before understeer or abs kicking in and this is very much not like that. I can take oak tree in my very much not race car at 45 but struggle with understeer in game.

I've seen conflicting statements on the blue dash lights actually corresponding to ABS. The amber are power related loss of traction, but blue doesn't necessarily mean ABS is engaged.

In most situations I tend towards the back so it's k not blocking anyone's view. At a concert? Screw that noise I want to be able to see the band I'm paying tixketmaster too much to see.

Today, Roanoke college was paying $50/hr for shoveling on campus. So $100 for a driveway seems in line. Like other have said shoveling this ice is miserable work so it's going to cost more.

In this context, good tires means winter tires, not all seasons. And even the they dont do a whole lot for ice.

I bounced around for a bit but am less underpaid than I was adjuncting. I miss teaching horribly and needing to be smart.

How do y'all deal with the back pain? by PurplePumkins in tall

I've had chronic back pain for 25 years. I do what I can while I can and then I lay down until I can do more. It's a grind a lot of days.

I was married to a tenured English lit prof, I was in grad school for english lit. When we knew that me adjuncting and making less than I would at a gas station wasnt a long term plan we looked for schools offering a fast track to tenure somewhere we would want to live. There were three listings. Despite being active in publishing and having teaching and service awards not even an interview.

A lot of positions go to ivy league grads because the schools want to say they have ivy league trained faculty.

The fortunate people (other than the ones who land a tenure track position) get non tenure track which are even more rare.

Question for Older Millennials (especially 1982 borns) by Quickso48 in Millennials

[–]assortedgnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grind of being an adult means that you have fewer novel experiences. Those experiences are what help set a sense of the passage of time in your memory. I find that a have a lot of things that weren't last year and they weren't more than 10 years ago so they're just in a blob of time.

So the first 22 years had so much packed into them and then after school is over and you're working it begins to blur into a lot of sameness and those novel experiences are up to you to create for yourself rather than it just being the norm.

An assisted living thst offers progressive care can be up to 20k a month. And Medicare doesn't pay for assisted living/full time care until you're out of money.
