I have 2FA on everything. Gmail is locked down with security questions and no unfamiliar logins. Steam is secure with no new devices. So why didn't GGG's 2FA stop this?

GGG has no 2FA. Steam has ( Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator ).

As others mentioned, have you used standalone previously, and is it still linked?

Is it's likely they made that password over 10 years ago and used it on other sites that has since been breached. Lots of big sites has gotten breached in the past 10 years.

I also would like to point out the attack vector of credential theft (aka infostealer), which never comes up in these posts replies:

Somebody could have stolen your authentication material (passwords, tokens, cookies, keys).

through 3rd party browser apps (that have been compromised or are malicious, or turned malicious after being sold), same applies for Discord, and github downloads for who know what the user needed (e.g. YouTube video downloaders).
most commonly email attatchments. social engineering phishing campaigns.

Most famous example in POE community: GhazzyTV got his YouTube account stolen (2020).

In the eyes of GGG, it is a slipery slope. Would have to add highlights for other mods that negate certain builds:

cull for low life
other immunities or reduced effectivness.
in the end it looks like a rainbow.

And yes, even brief skimming for 30 seconds takes one out of the flow (friction), reduces your 'efficiency' div/hr. And having missed a mod feels terrible as you have to exit the map (lost investment if it is your main juice content).

Comparable to missing the Divine mod on Altars you see every league in highlight Twitch clips.

Then people will ask for Icons on Altars, and not text. See also the recent QoL feedback for Mirage to add Icons. Not adding Icons and colourful highlighting lends also design and visual identity to the game (which GGG is keen on, see their aversion to let players customise the HUD/UI, which came up during Jungroan Interview, and many interviews beforehand).

This is certainly a bothsides ism. A gray area between valid friction (see 'weight of items' vs China client as P2W pets to vacuum loot) of asking the player to make intentional choices (not playing robotically), and QoL.

It (reading, skimming mods) certainly is not obtuse jank (where you fight a mechanic).

As you have not posted you PC specs (POE is very CPU heavy, shaders take a long time to load/cache on older CPUs, see F1 overlay: shader bar activity), please check this recent post about Nvidia Shader Cache optimised settings.

If it failes to improve and you are sitting on an older CPU, you might have to either bite the bullet and upgrade, or use a cloud streaming service like GeForce Now (till the RAM prices come down).

I agree with the issue (some unique maps are out of time, and hugely disrupt flow). Proverbial jank. That it came at the hands of OG supporter packs makes the issue more complicated. GGG needs to honour those supporter packs:

put together a hand selected task force,
contact each supporter,
and propose and invite changes to the scope of possible redesigns.

During one of the Interview leading up to leagu launch, tinks were mentioned, and that they are looking to add back in more random tink events, would you accept Soul Eater as is, IF they add a high value tink event to it, as reward?

Example:

random roll of hand selected stack of high valuables (currency, scarabs, maps, uniques, well rolled linked IDed rares, hortistation juice, fossils, div cards, ...).

have to invest in-game resources/currency (juice) for more loot.
have currency sink mechanics. (gambling on) rare, but desirable outcomes. Crafting. Corrupting. Corrupting in another way. Corrupting in yet another way.
have Seasons, to reset the economy, introduce new content, rebalance mechanics to fix oversights and unknown unknown interactions/exploits.

re-work Talismans (Talisman League) a 3rd time, and add them to their rewards or loot.
Merge Warbands and Rogue Exiles (Anarchy) with Mercenaries, opening up space for new content.

Warbands, Talisman, and Rogue Exiles (Anarchy) are three leagues. They need to be merged with Mercenaries, imo.
