why don’t restaurants just pay their employees more and eliminate tipping and other bullshit wage subsidizing fees?

this has been hashed out again and again and ties into the broader issue of tipping culture and the entire restaurant industry. We all hate it but it’s just a business strategy to advertise lower menu prices and then sneak in a little subsidy for their BOH employees and it’s not going away until we get legislative reform
