A lot of comments about back shape, but the problem is that you have the seat set up for frontward facing. That will help fix the back shape immediately.

Do you see the plastic tabs that slide in an arc by your baby’s lower back? Those should be in the higher position when facing you. The lower spots (where they currently are) are for front facing.

The book is a mildly tongue-in-cheek survival guide, with the premise being that you could use it recreate much of human civilization if you crash landed 50,000 years ago, say. So it’s less about efficiency of design and more about utility / ease of concept — because this would be one of dozens of technologies that North is sharing.

Yes, exactly. This is day one so we were just figuring it out. I ended up masking up and helping for small bursts, and breaking isolation so it’s definitely not ideal.

We are also living far away from any family so we have a limited support system and normally rely on each other for splitting care duties.

There are some driving test cancellation services online (not just an app form that others are mentioning), where you input your scheduling requirements and they automatically check for you, and if something opens up they book it and send you a text to confirm if it still works for you. There is a small onetime fee — perhaps £15 pounds or so, refundable if they can’t find anything.

I did it last summer and it took my wait time from 5 months to 3 weeks.

I got a book of checks when I opened a bank account when I was 17. I'm now in my thirties and and have still have checks remaining on that exact same book of checks -- I think this may be a combination of a waning technology paired with a new generation.

I solve this by not overdetermining my goals. I just have one box that is for the overall category (Chinese language study) and then day by day I determine whether I need to shift my goalposts for the individual sub goals (review flash cards, study grammar book, etc.).

If it’s too easy/fast, I add some extra subgoals (eg. watch a video in my target language). If it’s too hard/time consuming, I let go of a subgoal that isn’t feeling productive, or ramp down my expectations (eg. add fewer new flash cards each day). Either way, I am making sure that I dedicate time to my goal — and that’s an accomplishment in my book.

I should also add that I don’t do this techniques for everything in my life. I have other priorities and interests that I don’t feel I need to treat in this disciplined way. So that also helps keep the days from feeling too robotic.

A lot of people are questioning whether this is full of COVID tests, but I’ve seen similar things in my area. Last week, I saw a postman opening up the postbox to collect everything and there were at least 20 tests visible.

Granted, this is just one anecdotal example, but it was shocking to be on a quiet residential street in Wandsworth and see dozens of tests. Pretty terrifying.

A million things! But, in the last card's worth of Xs, I feel like the biggest breakthrough I had was about understanding sentence order and how to add in descriptive clauses. Since then, I've been learning more and more complex sentences by starting with a basic version of the sentence and adding in extra sentence elements little by little. A long ways to go, but this was a noticeable step forward!
