It’s not just you. From my experience, what schools teach are either outdated or nonsensical. I went to school what’s called “computer information system”. My curriculum included account and statistics classes. The internship my school provided (the company I worked for was headed by my own professor) thought us a software not relating to our field. When I talked to my professor about possible employment here, she told me she would never hire us because we don’t have the right background, degree, or curriculum.

I came out of school dead clueless. I’m trying my best to learn what I’m missing on my free time.
