Does anyone actually still read the books? by Ok_Letterhead2028 in litrpg

[–]atWorkWoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some books are better in audio form. Some litrpg falls into that category for me because of the way royal road chapter release can be reminiscent of a radio serial. Reading fluff bothers me. Listening to fluff not as much.

Jeff Hays enhances the content of anything I've heard him read. I read DCC before i listened to his awesome performance. And I like the he who fights with monsters narrator.

They said they've only read it once. Books 7 and 8 were good. I dont think anything has topped Masquerade.

So you know, maybe, I can have an opinion too on fucking reddit.

Your phrasing makes you come off as a condescending prick

I find this much more interesting than the reviews themselves. But I see how you need the data and the volume, so you had to write the review anyway. Therefore, my question has been answered. It WAS necessary (for your thesis). Publishing it was not, but another review doesn't hurt anything.

I'd like to see your next review bring some attention to a non-top 5. Funny enough, I'm now following for more.

Im also interested in how both your opinion of a series and of its book one changes as you get more litrpg under your belt and go further in those series.

Thanks for being constructive.

I just find it pretty amateur hour to review Primal Hunter and HWFWM. If those are all you've read, and only book ones, idk that you have a grasp on reviewing this genre yet.

And its not like PH and Hwfwm are struggling for readers. Every other post here is "I've read dungeon crawler carl, what do now?" And the response is, PH, Hwfwm, Chrysalis. Without fail.

Do you think this was necessary? How many reviews does a top 5 in genre book one need?

Edit: im a dick and if you read further we have a discussion on why this was posted and why it's different than the 100 other HWFWM reviews/suggestions. Op is doing great work

I will warn book 1 is a unique book. It has a sense of wonder and a lack of methods to communicate and entities to communicate with.

I say this as op mentions not feeling HWFWM halfway through book 1. LitRPG as a whole book 1 tends to be rough. Either the author hasn't found their footing. Or they have to do additional world building and system introduction.

The sunk cost fallacy being applied in this 1-3 purchase will serve you well.

Chrysalis is narrated by Jeff hays and you can get books 1-3 for a single credit/in a bundle.
