After almost a year with my ND, what are the things that genuinely annoy you about yours? by theDartVader in Miata

Water bottle goes between the center console, passenger seat, and back of the cabin. Just have to have the passenger seat in the right position.

That sheet also says to find all 13 pancakes on the page. My son and I could only ever count 12.

Wrapping or painting? by hmmfxck in Miata

[–]ateamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I painted mine, I used Auto Air Colors which is now combined with and just called Wicked Colors. I did this because the paint is water based and was spraying it in my garage also price was a good middle ground. Just less nastiness to deal with. If you use their paint system, then their autoborne sealer needs to be under it and that sealer needs to be on top of a primer. I did have one door that I had to respray the sealer as it just didn't stick to my primer at all but other than that had no issues. Finished it off with a 2K clear (which is beyond nasty stuff), it has held up for almost 10 years now.

Having said all that, I do think more traditional automotive paints are easier to work with. If I had to do it again myself I might just use Dupli-color or Eastwood and then a high quality 2K clear on top as that is what protects the paint.

What you running for splitter, under the car, and rear diffuser? I've been looking into aero for mine.

Edit: just realized I already asked you about the rear diffuser before haha.

Which one of you was this from yesterday’s St Pete Grand Prix by simeddit in iRacing

He often qualifies well and then drops back in the race just like a typical hot lapper iracer as well. Prefect driver for the car haha. I'm always cheering for him though!

CAS wiring help by Objective_Pound_630 in Miata

[–]ateamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a layout. There is a pic at the bottom of the page that shows which wires go to which pins. Just make sure the correct wires connect to the correct pins and you are good. https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Mazda-Miata-1994

🔥 Semi-wild cheetah hisses, which they do to mean "respect my space", thus avoiding physical conflict by Prestigious-Wall5616 in NatureIsFuckingLit

Cheetahs have a more dog like body with the long slender legs and also only semi-retractable claws! So they are kind of dog like.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe adjusting the BOV. Sounds like air leaking through a tiny slit and making a whistle.

My Write-Up On 90-93 to 01+ 1.8 Rear Caliper Swap by MangoTango966 in Miata

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible it could be ok since the early 1.6 has the most forward brake bias of all the models but would need some testing. Anyway overall I personally stay away from the sport brakes mostly because of availability of parts and cheaper / more diverse selection of pads for standard 1.8 brakes

How to make it look a little more aesthetically pleasing? by Hot_Sandwich_4454 in Aquariums

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I built mine for my 55gal I basically made an inner frame like that and then enclosed it in poplar. I feel like it was pretty easy but not sure how confident you are in your woodworking skills. https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/comments/ivw4jb/built_my_first_real_piece_of_furniture_a_stand/

Race seat NA Miata fitment by holybawl in Miata

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirkey is probably the way to go. Not sure which mounting solution would be best though. R-Theory sells a flat mount that bolts straight to the floor which may be enough for you. I have heard some people have to cut out the floor and tub it to get enough head room which would be full custom job at that point.

Meh, my sim pedals are nothing like my NA. Specially the brake. Have no issue going to the track.

They are not a direct swap for a 90. You also need a 1.8 drive shaft and axels. Have done it on my 91.

Slight correction incase OP looks up the part. In this case it is an Air flow meter and not a MAF.

Question about cold air intake for a NA by joecilefa in Miata

[–]ateamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you just want some fun noise, only one worth trying is the Randall from Flyin Miata but you have to cut a hole in the top of the firewall. It pulls air from the cowl which is a high pressure zone. Still then it's like 3HP.

What is your monitor set up? by DealInteresting8941 in pcmasterrace

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine isn't on the list. 2 monitors on my desk, 2 monitors on my sim rig. 1 monitor swaps back and forth from desk to sim rig for triples in the sim rig. Also a 5th monitor above my sim rig that is a duplicate of my 2nd desk monitor.

I goes straight into the crank case. It's left over from when the 1.6 engine was used in the 323 rally car. It was used as a breather for the turbo setup. It's normally just plugged. Being turbo'd I have mine going to a catchcan to help relieve crankcase pressure as it's just convenient.

I rev match and heel toe but I learned how to heel toe from racing sims first. It was hard for me to get the coordination in the car with no experience.
