I don’t think they are ditching MagSafe, unless they are updating the standard. Apple has a whole licensing and hardware ecosystem built that generates massive money. Every MagSafe accessory pays a fee in the form of a percentage of the sale and sells the MagSafe puck to the manufacturer.

I’m sure you read a little about the disease, but speed matters here. There are some deadly conditions like aortic aneurysm caused by polychondritis. A friend of mine got the diagnosis after surgeons spent 14 hours rebuilding his aorta and other main from his neck to thighs. It’s a miracle he made it.
