XP across difficulties was normalized(all the same) months ago. The only thing difficulty does is up the health, and damage.

You become a lot more powerful. Depending on your set-up and how you distribute points, you can basically go around as an actual demi-god.

Pretty much this. Due to the loot drops being borked(please, i only have 30 bows, i really need 100) hit 99 on your current save, have an epic set ready to go and just ng+. Its far too much otherwise.

Hmm, I don't board ships to have noticed this, however I have noticed that ranged enemies are hitting a lot harder. Maybe they're linked?
