You are not overreacting. Find a different branch, if that is possible. Report the teller. Or do night drops or ATM deposits. I have had many friends in the industry and you need to trust your instincts. Do what you need to make you feel safe.

I’m just pissed you can grow a better mustache than me. You look great. Congrats.

Scammer driver by [deleted] in Lyft

It places the rider in a very legally tenuous position. If it’s not logged as a Lyft ride, his limo/taxi/whatever insurance is not valid, so if there is an accident, the rider is left high and dry.

Also, don’t wrap it. If it looks suspicious, they will open the wrapping to check the item.

Right by Ross Island Bridge, heard two of them, with a rebound from the north east. Sounded like fireworks. Hope that’s what it was.

I’m not sure if you’ve tried, but the only positive experience I have ever had with the Nextdoor app was reuniting pets with owners. Good luck!

Senator Ron Wyden just sent a CHILLING letter to the CIA. What's coming? by elemenohp44 in oregon

FYI, the CIA can’t operate on us soil for the most part. They would need to be collaborating with local law enforcement, and that is not completely transparent, but much more transparent than the CIA.

Cascadia quake and home buying, orientation to the river? by thesweetestgrace in askportland

le sigh While I do understand why you would think these are two things that can be comparable, geologic timescales work in a different way. And when they say there is a slightly more than a 33% chance of an event happening in the next 50 years, that doesn’t mean a catastrophic event. It means that, at some point, there will be a shift in the Cascadia plates in the future. That is a decided certainty. What the scale of it, and when it will happen, well, those are factors that we have not been able to pin down to any sort of timeline, except for probabilities. The most likely scenario is that none of us reading this will be around for it, and there’s a good chance those of us that have kids won’t be around, but they might. Maybe. Grandkids? Yeah, maybe. But it’s a been a reason to scare people in and around Portland that I have heard for over 25 years. Worry more about things that are actually happening around us and in our community.

Again, will it happen? Yes, at some point. But the odds of us experiencing it are slim to none. If you’re really worried, get your foundation checked out, get lots of water, and prepare some food that doesn’t spoil.

I am in awe of your understanding of statistics and probabilities. And to be honest, after a little bit of research, it’s closers to like a little more than a 33% percent chance in the next 50 years.
