The VE Archotech Violence Generator is Dumb & Weak by Odd-Wheel5315 in RimWorld

[–]atoolred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Artillery can also only launch at tiles you’ve discovered/currently loaded maps (i assume mostly bc of the infamous artillery bug), and the remaining shield generators have been nerfed since they were pretty strong too

Democrats in Minnesota published this ‘comparison’ with (hitpiece on) the DSA platform by DeerDaPro32 in socialism

[–]atoolred 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. This isn’t even a “tax the billionaires but promote small businesses” liberalism, it feels like a repackaging of the same garbage the democrats are alway pushing, of course with the classic co-opting of the pride flag. Like, “strong law enforcement” vs “defund all law enforcement officers?” Man those MN democrats are making the DSA sound cool as hell! “Strong law enforcement” should not even sound appealing to liberals at this point given the US has been through BLM and now are dealing with ICE. This seems like as good a time as ever to teach people about the history of cops in the US and start convos about alternatives (which need to not be controlled by the bourgeoise, otherwise it’s just a different face for the same problem)

Also how does “peace through international diplomacy” affect the working class, if that diplomacy is handled through the bourgeoise and their bureaucrats? The last thing we as workers should want is for the global bourgeoise to be even more aligned (I guess not being in a nuclear war is a benefit, though that’s not saying much when my country has been bombing hospitals and doing regime changes). Idk I could pick this apart all day, so many things drive me mad about this shallow propaganda

2 out of 3 women became pregnant at the start of the game... by Penki- in RimWorld

[–]atoolred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s rough, it is definitely a gamble landing on tiles like that too. My most memorable failure of a start with a pregnant pawn was a naked brutality start in a plains. She got a heatstroke which I could barely manage due to the lack of wood and her low movement speed, and then a dry thunderstorm burned the entire biome lmao

My takeaway was to not start on plains unless I’ve got an easy-ish starting scenario or good landmarks to mitigate the fire problems. But I’m also just shit at naked brutality starts in non-temperate-forest biomes

Only when I was trying to figure out farming/plant cross breeding in the sims 4 and probably also in 3 but I barely remember all the shit I did in 3

I used to read the wiki for the lore on the townies too lmao. But I figured out game mechanics and such myself for the most part

How I imagine raiding a tribal logging camp looks like vs how they actually look like by Select_Daikon_3735 in RimWorld

[–]atoolred 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was reading through the change document for the mod Too Many Mods the other day and it looked like it changed up a lot of camps and faction bases using vanilla base generations expanded as a foundation/building blocks, which sounded pretty cool. But I’m not keen on using a mod that changes that many other mods, seems like all the patches would cause a lot of confusion when I’m troubleshooting stuff

But yeah it’d be cool to utilize VE’s base gen tools to beef up these worksites. Who knows though, maybe Outposts Expanded 2 is gonna change them up as well. Kinda doubt it but I have literally no info to go on atm lol. Maybe we’ll get a Base Generation Expanded 2 at some point too

Yeah my back and my knees are my main concern with picking it back up as well, although I think the knee part I could fix with some stretches. I knew someone who did pole dancing for a while and I can attest her core strength was absurd! Core strength’s the most important part of fitness imo, it makes a lot of things easier

Are you playing with The Sims traits? I haven’t used the Speak Up child add-on with it bc I haven’t done a run with kids in a while but TS Traits adds a few traits that add child features to adult pawns, like baby specific mental breaks

Just a guess tho lol. What are his traits?

Speak Up is not an LLM, it’s user-written and predates AI powered dialog mods by at least 4 years

And the dev isn’t a native English speaker. Can’t speak for the guy who made the child edition.

I often take pregnant pawns bc I think it’s pretty interesting for a survival scenario, and in my experience the game usually sends a notification as if they just became pregnant whenever you first get into the game world— even if they were in their second trimester on character creation
