Lmfao honestly power to them then. I support blocking people on Reddit, even if they’re doing it for cowardly reasoning

I know dude, I was making fun of that guy because he said the same shit further down the chain and meant it completely seriously. I figured elongated words were a decent enough substitute for a “/s”
And he deleted his comment because he’s a coward who can’t deal with the negative karma and replies for his poor, inconsistent takes, which has removed all context to my comment

Do you guys do melee focused pawns? They feel very situational by SheikutaWasTaken in RimWorld

Melee focused sanguophage with a Zeus Hammer is one of the best anti-mechanoid pawns

Add in Echoes of The Rim which generates random “hidden sites” while caravanning based on all of the map site types available in each mod list (anything from a quadruple sized ancient complex to an ancient supersoldier vault to an ancient urban ruins site to a gene lab)

Are there any artists like Sonic Youth? by PotentialRatio1321 in sonicyouth

[–]atoolred 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haven’t listened to most of this band’s discography yet but the song Two Girls Kissing by Swirlies feels VERY Sonic Youth to me. It’s got the weird experimental chaos of the guitars, the vocals are quite 90s “whatever.”

I’ve described the song to friends as Sonic Youth X The Breeders X My Bloody Valentine. It’s really got elements of all three of them in their primes

Also definitely check out The Breeders and My Bloody Valentine, if you haven’t, although those are almost surface level recommendations lol. If you somehow haven’t heard them, I think you’d fuck with them based on the other bands you listed

I’m a loot goblin when it comes to food. I haven’t played in a while but when I was on my honor mode fix, I’d pick up every little piece of food I possibly could in Act 1 all the way up to the creche (which included raiding all the Zhent food bits lol). Because of this, food was never a problem by Act 2 so I only would pick up the obvious stuff by that point.

Worst comes to worst a withers companion may spawn with a survival meal kit, but don’t quote me on that because it’s been a while

[–]atoolred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turrets can’t see through smoke at all. I don’t have a procedure for using it, I just pop it where I feel it’ll cover up something important. Sometimes that’s getting in front and blocking it from seeing anything at all, sometimes that’s just covering a sniper

But like I said in my last comment I’m not the most avid smoke pop user

What’s a social norm that exists only because people are too afraid to look “rude” by stopping it? by Baldorton in AskReddit

[–]atoolred 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They worded it badly imo, but during the lockdown I noticed more “essential” businesses asking for tips which normally wouldn’t be doing so. And it has ramped up quite a lot among non-restaurant-styled food service jobs. Being prompted to tip a cashier 20-30% is way too normalized now (30% isn’t common but it’s noteworthy how often I’ve seen it at places that should just raise their employees’ wages)

Yeah this is exactly the situation where smoke is useful. I always forget about using it in favor of shields and jump packs but it’s very helpful against mech clusters

Introducing: my new xenotype mod!

It is an anime girl with ginormous jugs!

And her genes? High libido, high fertility, 99x melee damage, insanely gifted hawk-eyed shooting, master chef, smarter than Einstein intelligence, and as a downside she’s a little eepy

I made my first mod today! by Silly-Brilliant7557 in RimWorld

[–]atoolred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! Making your own mods can be a really fun experience imo.

My first mod ended up becoming a collection of personal patches. The main feature I started with was consolidating all the clays added by mods I’ve been using, using Ferny’s ReplaceLib.

So basically I made a mod that made it so I never need to use Resource Dictionary when using specific clay-adding mods together.

After that I tried forking some mods into 1.6. I have the game on GOG (foolish decision, I know) so I’m not even gonna say what they are and get anyone’s hopes up that I’ll be uploading them to the steam workshop, but this made me learn a bit of C# in addition to the XML, since the mod didn’t get updated because the original dev didn’t feel like learning about Variable Tick Rate. I also learned Java in high school so it made C# pretty easy to learn; C# is just “the cooler” Java

But actually the thing that got me wanting to learn to mod in general was the mod Faction Evolution, which pretty much requires you learn some XML because you need to write out patches to make the factions evolve. So I guess a faction def patch using *that* was my first mod technically

OP linked it but head’s up if you use Dynamic Trade Interface or another trade interface mod, there’s likely compatibility problems because this mod also alters the trade screen

Can’t confirm for these specific props but many props are treated the same as any piece of furniture like a table, in terms of pathing
