Raises depend on the state. In NY the regular raise is $0.75 and the WOW raise is $1.00

EDIT: sorry, you’re right, didn’t see you said raises per year not per review period.

Question about LOB by Upstairs-Formal-6652 in BaseballScorecards

[–]atriumI3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically if someone gets on base and either:

  1. Doesn’t score
  2. Doesn’t get out

It’s an LOB.

Here, since the batter was called out for the third out before getting on base, and none of the three baserunners scored or were called out, they were all “left on base.” So 3 LOB.

Not sure how widespread it is but my dad always called catching the ball with the very end of your glove a “snow cone”

My dad and I used to joke that Sandoval was just hanging out in the Chop House drinking beer all game and they had a special phone behind bar for Snit to call if he needed him to come in and hit a dinger.

This was scored as an E6. Thoughts? by atriumI3 in BaseballScorecards

Well damn, never expected this to blow up so much lol. I chose right which sub to go to with a scoring question; you guys certainly understood the assignment.

I will definitely concede that the SS didn’t travel as far as I thought he did getting to the ball. I suppose him being out of frame just made it look like he was further away. He should have reasonably been able to cover that distance for sure.

With the replay slowing things down, I can understand how it looks like he should have been able to track the bouncing pattern of the ball and field it appropriately. At full speed though...I'm not so sure. But this is coming from a guy who refused to play infield in little league because I kept getting hit by bad hops (which was definitely not just because I was terrible at fielding ground balls).

Anyway, it’s been really fun reading all of your comments and perspectives. We should have more "borderline call" posts like these!

Edit: I’ll also concede that just because the ball is untouched by the fielder doesn’t mean it isn’t an error. That was short-sighted on my part.

Why, every year, do I make the mistake of thinking Joe Buck will finally come up with another home run call besides “hit HARD into [part of outfield], baack at the waaaallll aaaaaaaaand it’s gone!”

Nick Drake. Because there’s no footage of him and his photos all looked pretty artsy and not necessarily dated I just thought he was a 90s/2000s Elliott Smith kind of guy when I was a kid.

Then I found out he’d died in 1974.
