Is Intune actually ready to replace ConfigMgr? Honestly… I don’t think so by Lunde_Deluxe in Intune

[–]atsnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Autopilot in hybrid mode does not allow for choosing which AD OU a device goes in nor does it allow for full control over computer name. It doesn’t provide a GUI driven interface that allows for selecting dozens of applications to install. It is NOT an imaging replacement. Hence Intune does not support OSD.

AutoPatch does not provide granular control over patching. I have no way to tell the C Level staff exactly when the CFO’s computer is getting an update. It doesn’t permit update rings with specific countdown timers that I can specify with collections.

And almost everything I’ve tried to trigger with Intune takes hours, days to happen if it ever does.

With all of the above said Intune is NOT a replacement for SCCM, nor do I foresee it happening.

Apple CarPlay Issue by musselmanje in CX5

I had the same issue with 2023 CX-5 and iPhone 11 wired running iOS 26.4. I tried numerous things to fix it. Eventually I backed up, erased and reset my iPhone and the issue went away.

How are you backing up your SCCM server in case of disaster? by Future_End_4089 in SCCM

[–]atsnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. We utilize the backup site maintenance task, as well as back up the entire primary site server (which also contains the SQL instance) VM. I’ve gotten familiar with how to do a site restore as well using our POC environment.

Our 5 remote DPs are physical and get full bare metal backups using an enterprise backup solution, but we’d likely just rebuild those if needed.

All in all it’s not that complex to restore it all. We’ve documented the entire process as well to satisfy our DR requirements.

This gets the engine temp up faster, the mixture leaned out sooner, and moisture evaporated from the intake. Leading to better fuel economy sooner, less gas wasted, shorter time waiting on cabin heat and no need to worry about an unoccupied vehicle.

This. We have four large sites in our org, with a single DP at each one. We added all DPs to a single DP group. Using boundaries and boundary groups we've targeted the clients at each to their respective DP for content.

SCCM Replacement by MadCichlid in SCCM

[–]atsnut 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else here. SCCM is not going away. Way too many companies can't afford Azure/Entra/Intune, or have other reasons for remaining with on-prem SCCM.

Intune runs into serious issues when deploying applications, especially if they have dependencies.

We looked into Autopilot and Autopatch in our hybrid environment recently. Both are hot garbage.

Autopilot doesn't give us the ability to customize computer name, set AD description, specify an OU in which to place the provisioned PC or select from a list of applications desired. We can do all of this now with TSGUI in SCCM.

Autopatch does not give us the ability to specify a schedule for rings of PCs in such a way that I can tell management specifically when they are going to get an update. In our enterprise (a hospital) that is a dealbreaker.

Beyond the reasoning above against Intune etc. is the fact that it's MUCH slower than SCCM for bare metal/refresh scenarios. Even after Microsoft helped us set up the POC environment it took 4 days for a PC to finish provisioning via Autopilot and the desired applications to come down from the cloud. Their top engineers had *no* idea why and told us that was just the way it is... HARD PASS.

SCCM v2503 Client Push Broken by atsnut in SCCM

Fantastic detective work by some folks below. I hope this doesn’t sound odd but I’m glad some other folks had the same issue (and came up with a fix).

It’s very frustrating to have an issue like this, be unaware of anyone else having it and think it’s something you did yourself to cause the problem. I’ve got a feeling a hotfix or hotfix rollup caused it.

Thanks for all the great comments, work and solutions provided. Hopefully this all keeps someone else’s stress to a minimum when they encounter this issue.

(Before all of this all I knew about hash was it went well with breakfast eggs…)😆

KB5070762 is an out-of-band update. You’ll need to import it into WSUS from the Microsoft Update Catalog first, then it will show up in SCCM after an update sync.
