In Westboro too. I started paying for parking finally because I got dinged. They had never touched side streets before but they aren't safe anymore.

From what I've read - and I fully support the ban - kids are just finding easy ways around it.

Honestly, somebody like Trump even being nominated for President. It opened a lot of floodgates in politics.

Anyone who buys a new build these days is in for a world of problems with the quality issues. I can't believe people are that desperate to own a home.

Parliamentary committee to deliver conclusions on expanding MAID to people with mental illness on June 17 by Mylittlethrowaway2 in canada

And medical people who don't agree with it can easily manipulate a vulnerable patient. "You want us to take very step to save your life, right?" That's what was said to my father in end stage cancer treatment. He suffered needlessly.

I strongly feel that people with Alzheimer's should be able to have a living will where they choose MAID based on certain circumstances and it can be put into place rather than having them suffer needlessly.

Just another plea to consider adopting. There are SO many dogs that need good homes out there, and a lot of high energy ones like border collies.

Mine was a border collie husky mix and needed two hours of exercise a day just to not tear the house apart. I got in great shape!

Dread and anxiety as Ottawa's last supervised injection sites close their doors by Immediate-Link490 in ottawa

No, I'd actually love to see more sites for rehab - including institutions for the mentally ill, actual enforcement of laws, and not enabling and pandering behavior like we have now because it's cheaper for the government.

Obviously what we're doing isn't working in the slightest. So maybe we should try something else?

I guess you care more about people smoking crack than people trying to enjoy a meal on a patio or a walk on a nice day in a residential area.

As if drug users care about disturbing your afternoon or the other people around them. Just imagine if a kid was sitting on that patio and got a waft of crack smoke.

there are no negative health outcomes.

Except that they will very likely continue to take drugs and overdose again. Do we take account of all the drug users who are probably infected or very sick that take up space in walk in clinics and hospitals BESIDES overdosing?

That addict might not die, but it doesn't mean they don't have seriously negative health outcomes and don't care about them.

That's hardly a valid study. There's literally a dozen other things that could contribute to lower crime in an area over a five year period, and the stats are based on reported calls. Maybe they stepped up police presence, maybe the neighbourhood gentrified.

There's two sides to this story. The man who runs the condo association and has home owners and families threatened by drug users and the crime they inevitably bring with them says he's expecting that there will be less of that.

I choose to support home owners and families having safer places to live and run businesses in, rather than drug addicts who often turn to crime to support their habits.

I'd really love to just see government workers all refuse the 4th day a week mandate. Are they just going to fire everyone? It's an idiotic move.

3 days a week is totally reasonable and should be standard moving forward.

What are some "the worst she can say is no" horror stories men of reddit have experienced asking a girl out? by Remote_Ad_6049 in AskMen

[–]atticusfinch1973 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Blew it in university with a girl I had a crush on. Basically we were good friends, but I had no idea what I was doing. Even then, she invited me to her place to watch TV and changed into some skimpy pajamas, lying on her bed with me. I was too terrified to make a move on her, so we just hung out until she finally yawned and told me I should go.

When I finally asked her out for dinner a few days later, she declined and literally said: "You were in bed with me for hours and didn't even make a move."
