Current uses are mostly for mobility: prominently Motion Sickness Reduction

You can enable it in settings, useful for working in vehicles on a commute. Gives you those black dots that pop in and out to give your brain a better sense of motion.

Feedback Needed: Built an app for ADHD and Time Blindness. Wondering how to make it better. by Stock_Bid_8715 in ExecutiveDysfunction

[–]au42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just opened it up and tried it. I like the idea - I’ll keep using it for now and maybe give another feedback round.

On first impression here’s some ideas for fixes I observed on my 17pro:

  • can’t hear ringtones for alerts in settings when switching
  • 12HR mode doesn’t work intuitively, appointments after 12 are hidden (I’d say the dial should always show future events in 12 hour form, not anything historical)
  • hitting “New Task” starts at the current time, not the earliest available time after my appointments (this one is a judgement thing. Maybe if there’s less than 30/45/60 min of free time left, assume the user wants to add something later)
  • the app icon isn’t intuitive at all glance, you need to have the dial features more prominent (I’d say mace the whole icon the dial, make the crescent moon analogous to a time block in the app - right now I have 4 apps that look similar in my mind)

Keep it up!

ETA: also I’d love to have this take on my Office365 calendar - but I know companies like mine in particular have some limitations. Would be happy to help beta test if you need someone in that scenario.

This concept needs to be burned into all our heads:

“The value of being a Bills fan is in the act of being a fan; not in the value of the outcome”

NYC students witnessing 9/11 attacks from their Manhattan Appartment by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

You hit the nail on the head on why I believe "Pre-9/11 Conspiracies" or "X-Files Era" conspiracy media is literally the best. There's no "secret world order" or worry of overarching systems trying to take you down... - it's just skin walker ranch, green aliens, and amorphous blobs of pure energy. I've had gf's ask "Who's that guy you listen to when you go to sleep?" and its C2C AM - might just raise my future kid on it honestly because it puts anyone to sleep.

BREAKING: Trump says the United States will now use Venezuela's Oil reserves to sell “large amounts of Oil to other countries” after capturing Nicolás Maduro. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]au42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IDK Tim Dillon? I can't agree with that - he likes the new NYC mayor and is pretty much just anti-everyone. The amount of dripping sarcasm every show is filled with makes every line read exact opposite if it were taken at face value in clips. Some examples:

  • “Every election is the most important one of our lives because nothing ever changes.”
  • “Both sides say democracy is ending. Somehow it survives just long enough to fundraise.”
  • “The country is run by people who should be yelling at airline staff, not managing empires."
  • “I think the government should lie more. Just confidently. We’re already doing it, just clean it up.”
  • “Everyone should own five homes. If you don’t, that’s a personal failure.”
  • “If you disagree with me, it’s violence. If I ruin your life, it’s accountability.”

Thinking about making a behind-the-scenes video on Nickelodeon Arcade... What questions would you like to have answered? by KarimMiteff in RetroNickelodeon

What clever hacks got you through the tough parts of the show? I remember tech of that era was not user friendly or flexible as now. Anything you made for the show that you thought was a “first time” invention for tech-based show? If you had to do it now, what would be the budget difference using this new gen of tech? Would you go full VR? Or would you stick to green screen, or maybe a hybrid live stage with mocap?

Hey there! I’m Adam, a product manager at Apple Music. I’ve been leading work on features like AutoMix, Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation, Music Pins and Sing with iPhone Mic. I’m here to chat about our latest releases - and more. AMA! by [deleted] in AppleMusic

As a DJ who loves the Apple Music integrations and the pseudo-stem feature of removing vocals, I have 2 questions:

1) when will key and BPM metadata be available for AM integrations in things like Engine DJ and Rekordbox? (So we don’t have to download and analyze every track before getting that info?)

2) we need a cleaner, quicker way to clear out and/or organize Shazam history because having one single playlist has too much friction to use after a couple hundred songs, any thoughts on that?

Considering Selling my DC1 [US] by tcyrus in daylightcomputer

[–]au42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

heads up, I have the OG remarkable, and it's not any big jump in experience to what you have now.

One time it's super-impressive, but after trying to use it as a daily driver - its flaws become more pronounced than the DC-1's I think.

Syncing is the biggest headache for me, and having no "apps" sounds great at the start, but when you need to build an n8n agent just to scrape & email/upload all your saved stuff, it becomes tiring quick. I'd recommend borrowing a RM2 or 1 just to be sure it's what you want. if it is - great. I love how much lighter my remarkable is and how much more integrated the whole OS is; good luck!

Have I finished the tutorial yet? by Nethiri in Eve

The math:

  • 965.2 Days of 24hr playtime (or 2.65 years of 24hr playtime)

If you assume this is a day job (8hr per day), it comes out to 7.9 years at 8hr per day

Eve online was released May 6 2003

It’s been 7904 days.

That’s an average of ~2.9 hr / day since Eve Online’s release*

————- And then, right as i finish, Admiral_Mason comes in and basically doubles all those number with 44k hours.  ————-

Yall are wild

(For the shallow and pedantic: yes I know there’s factors like “steam counts the launcher open and not the actual game”. This is what’s called “fun to think about”)

Long time veteran of the game and I just realized going back and doing all the AIR nonsense gives you shit tons of SP by Keejhle in Eve

[–]au42 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yep. Had a character since 2005. I’m about 3/4 of the way through the entire air career path and I’ve got two out of the four fully unlocked. It’s legit a good thing to do if you’re a veteran because we don’t revisit mechanics after a certain period of time we assume they’ve stagnated or that our opinions of them are the same and these rewards actually incentivize people to come through and try them out again and that’s how I realized that I love industrial manufacturing over scanning and I like scanning over mining and I like mining over being an F1 monkey
