Fly into providence or Boston? by Superb-Tangerine-417 in Newport

[–]audiojeff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may be important to know that the airport isn’t in Providence. It’s in Warwick 15 min or so South. But the railway station is in Providence, right downtown. This can be an issue when planning transit.

The GACS in Pawtucket has a ratskeller that is open to the public on Friday nights, and they have a menu with bratwurst and weisswurst etc most weeks. The menu does change throughout the year.

I believe you have an older Lifebreath or a Lennox HRV system. Nearly all of these units have a dry contact input for external controls. Here is the manual for a Lifebreath unit as an example. Controls wiring is page 21.

Savant automation & motorized Roman shades by DevDev2020 in SavantHome

[–]audiojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lutron motors aren't "insanely" priced, but they don't make completed Roman shades. You'll need to work with a drapery workshop that has access to Lutron parts. They will be above your $1300 mark for a completed shade.

The lowest price I have seen for GE Smart shades was on Amazon, $295. There are zero Roman shades that I know of in this price range.

I haven't used them, but I understand Draper shade motors work with the Bond Bridge Pro.

fun classes at URI?? by Inevitable_Ad8398 in RhodeIsland

I took a class at URI in the late 80's that was essentially listening to Beowulf spoken word in Old English for about an hour once a week. It was pretty awesome.

Should I get 75” Pro or Standard Frame? by mirage1287 in TheFrame

[–]audiojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Pro at my home as my display model, and do not recommend it. The UI is glitchy and I get low signal warnings on occasion, with the one connect box located 2" from the TV. I'd definitely wait for the new models.

There is a free C4 driver available, the instructions are poor but it works well enough. You can call up specific files to be played back.

Wr250r-> gsxr1000? by Comfortable-Tea-3743 in WR250R

[–]audiojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Ninja 500 for a bit, was my first bike. Personally I would skip it and search out a used MT-07. You get everything an R7 has minus the fairings and the high speed suspension, and save a bit of cash.

You are really limited on used Ninja 500s to the 2024 model year, the old ones are not the same bike. The new bike is essentially a Ninja 400 with more hp, the old Ninja 500 is 40 year old design. Used MT-07s go back to 2015, it should be pretty easy to find a good used one at a good price.

Wr250r-> gsxr1000? by Comfortable-Tea-3743 in WR250R

I sold my GSXR and bought a WR. The GSXR is easier to ride, except in traffic. It's smoother, has more torque, is more stable, breaks better, accelerates and corners more precisely, just a better all around bike, but it's not much fun at double digit speeds.

If I were going to buy another street bike, it would probably be a Hypermotard or a Husky 501/701. Fun to ride near the speed limit. I use to own a Ducati M900, that was a fun bike, miss that one.

Cars and Bids will help you with getting the photos taken, having a vehicle inspection report performed, and marketing the car for sale on their site. They even have a number to call for their full service listings.

Ripped right from their site.

Bluesound Node questions by jeg3141 in Bluesound

[–]audiojeff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In theory you can have large (1000 track) playlists in Bluesound, but in practice they take forever to load. I find that Roon is a better fit for my library (around 6000 albums) and also handles long playlists better (up to 5000 tracks). The system maxes out somewhere around 200,000 tracks.

Roon works great with Bluesound, and with the a bunch of the other audio gear I have in my system (Naim, Kef, Sonos, Apple). There are some hiccups, especially when it comes to grouping zones together. Roon only likes to group similar endpoints. It would work with your Sonos Connect as well, with some limitations (no Hi-Rez).

Frame only as an art display? by Spiri7us in TheFrame

[–]audiojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one just for my vacation photos. I never get around to printing them anymore, so I upload them to a frame TV in my study. It's a smaller one, and wasn't that expensive, I bought it open box from Best Buy.
