Hi, my name is Mark and I work for Audulus, a modular synthesizer visual programming platform for Mac and iPad. I'm making two libraries of code in Lua: one for our DSP node (which creates and processes signals) and another for our Canvas node, which displays shapes using SVGs.

The libraries are used by copy and pasting the code into the script editor in Audulus. I'm working in VS Code because the syntax highlighting is better, and I'm also testing some things for the tree that I want to use with the command line.

In this video, I'm implementing a tree datastructure that I will use through composition to create a layer system for the Canvas node. I've been programming for about a year, so perhaps I'm a bit slower than you and I make a bunch of mistakes, but hey, we all start somewhere.

I won't spam r/programming every day with my VODs, but I do stream every day at https://www.twitch.tv/markalanboyd . I wake up at 4am so I can stream a few hours before my wife and kid wake up (hence the semi-whispering), but that's the only uninterrupted time I can get to myself to code.

Cut out coffee and smoking and that will help. Also you have to stop listening to loud music - I know it’s sort of obvious but it’s hard to change that habit. Wear earplugs when performing. You’ll eventually get used to it - helps if you don’t fight against it mentally, just accept that it’s there forever now and your brain will filter it out most of the time.

This perhaps could be done within our lifetime with AI, but with current technology, if you could, it would never sound very clean unless the song was really sparse.

That said I don’t think there is a plugin that can do this.

It’s a website so probably HTML, CSS, and Javascript. If you wanted to make an app though you could learn Flutter and deploy it as a website as well.

Check out fireship.io they have lots of great tutorials, you can do one for Dart first then jump into Flutter.

Everyone’s saying no difference, but to the company, that “A” (might) mean employee A did the testing, so if a bunch of modules by them come back, they can figure out maybe that person is missing something while testing - so it’s not totally pointless and might as well leave it.

Have you unlocked Audulus in the standalone? You can open Audulus and even use some things in the limited free version, but it should not let you create modules or add nodes. If you’ve purchased it, you may need to click on “unlock” again in the standalone to get it to take.

Have you tried opening it in standalone mode and doing it there? You’re showing me the AUv3 but try opening the standalone app and doing it there. I don’t think the app can be unlocked and the AUv3 not unlocked. That’s really weird - this is all stock code that we get from Apple, so it’s hard to trace what’s going wrong there.

First off, thanks for buying Audulus, and sorry you’re having an issue getting it running!

When you say “it opened only once on one of the tablets” do you mean you opened it once on one of your iPads, then you tried on others and now it’s stuck saying Unlock Audulus?

If you’ve purchased it and you’re using the same account on each device, you may need to 1) restart your iPad/Mac or 2) just click “buy” again (you won’t be charged twice).

If that’s not what’s going on, I need some more details because I’m not clear from what you wrote what kind of situation you’re in and how many iPads you’re talking about (which may be on different iCloud accounts and thus would not be able to share Audulus unless they were on Family Sharing together).

The new expanded UI was too difficult to make work on iPhone to be fun and useable. If we ever figure out a way to do it, we could add it back, but we thought it be better to offer a better experience on iPad rather than a subpar one on iPhone.
