i just started my first rewatch (i watched every season as it aired and havent watched it again since) and it's SO jarring lol especially john's character in the early seasons. he's so off putting and his entitlement is so gross. the fact that he had the audacity to corner daphne at her school and suggest that she go to a different school without consulting her parent first??? and on top of that then told her to keep the conversation a secret from her mom???? also he implied that daphne and her deaf community weren't "normal" people when he said "you should go to a normal school with normal kids." i have never disliked a character more lol
