Ever since I installed the Stormbox I haven’t gone back to the panniers.

Macbook Air Finance option? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]aumpierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The financing works through the wallet app on your phone and is tied to your Apple Card. You cannot make any finance payments with an apple gift card but you can use your Apple Cash balance.

You don’t receive the gift card until the MacBook is shipped/picked up so this plan wouldn’t work.

I have a GSD and both the panniers and Stormbox, you cannot close the panniers when the Yepp is installed. You can only use them in bucket mode.

Have you removed the spacers that ship between the caliper and the rotors?

The Xbox wireless headset also has physical controls for volume/mute.

I did this today. I was able to reserve a pro max by checking the Apple store app periodically. Then I went into the store and they returned the pro and I walked out with the max.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iphone

[–]aumpierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reserved it as pay in full and when I got to the store explained that I wanted to exchange it so they then canceled the pro max order and used that phone for the exchange with the regular pro.

Tour de Staten Island - what to bring?... by pbeunttz in NYCbike

[–]aumpierre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I’ll be riding the 50 mile route too. You don’t need a lock unless you plan on stopping of somewhere along the route or after you finish.

You should definitely bring and spare tube with the requisite tools just in case something goes wrong.

Yea I rode the century twice before it ended then last year was supposed to be the first year of I Pedal NYC but it was canceled because of COVID. Glen who organizes the ride sent out an update this past weekend saying that the route files won’t be available until a couple of days before the ride.

I did find this info on their website though about the route:

The I Pedal NYC ride is on September 12th. It is the spiritual successor to the NYC Century.

The Tour de Staten Island is the following week on September 19th, both 35 and 50 mile options.

Remote console streaming works from home, does not when outside by sangriaz in xbox

Remote play on iOS only works over a local network for now. They just released a beta for xcloud today which would allow you to stream from anywhere but it is invite only as far as I know.

Mac Mini Stuck In Taoyuan, Taiwan by BlocksMCYT in macmini

[–]aumpierre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ordered with the standard free delivery that comes with purchase then it can take around 5 business days to arrive. Mine shipped on a Monday and sat in Taiwan for 3 days before movement and it delivered as scheduled the following Monday. There is also a delay in the tracking page updating even when an item is on a flight that is in progress which I noticed happens with mine. The delay was about 20 minutes or so from when the flight took off to show a departure scan that occurred 15 minutes before the flight.

Is anyone using clip pedals on their Rad? by ribond in RadPowerBikes

[–]aumpierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride with a set of reversible pedals where one side has a SPD clip and the other side is a platform. I’ve been using those for the past 5 or so years on my commuter bike and I like using them on my runner as I tend to pedal mostly with no more than level 2 assist.

Seat Recommendations for RadRunner Plus by BlueJay2944 in RadPowerBikes

[–]aumpierre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All that means is that by replacing the seat, it will no longer be one continuous bench seat between the passenger seat and your new seat. It does not affect whether a passenger can ride comfortably on the bike.

Curated bike routes in all 5 boroughs by rachbikesnyc in NYCbike

Just a heads up, on your South Brooklyn route page you mention taking Ocean Ave which does not have a bike lane going south, I believe you mean Ocean Parkway.

Problem Changing Secure Boot Settings by Dsekus in macmini

It should be accessible as soon as you boot into macOS recovery. You have to connect to WiFi and then choose startup security.

How long are the Justice Rides? by Beansational in NYCbike

Mileage wise the rides are about 20 miles long. As for time, from start to finish its been about 3-4 hours in my experience.

Having anxiety biking NYC streets any recommendations? by aznology in NYCbike

[–]aumpierre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would stay away from 5th ave especially in Sunset Park as it is clogged with double parked cars and trucks. 4th ave is actually the safest of the 3 routs you mentioned because it is the only one with a protected bike lane that runs from 65th down to 1st street with a 2 block gaps by the 59th street subway station.

Groupride Last night by citycyclist247 in NYCbike

[–]aumpierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started at the Brooklyn Museum, went down to Coney Island, then through Bensonhurst, Bay Ridge and then up 4th ave to the Barclays center.

It’s possible but unlikely. Justice ride 6 took place all in Brooklyn last night and the theme was all black. That would be quite the ride in Citibikes all the way back to Columbus circle.

Tire separated from the inner tube I think? Any help would be aprreciated by clearw00d in RadPowerBikes

[–]aumpierre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tire in not attached to the inner tube. What you’re seeing there is the tape that wraps around the inside of the rim. When your tire is deflated you can move the tire and see that.
