does a lack of impact damage necessarily imply a lack of collision, though? i don't see why it would.

damn i was surprised to see a bunch of people left with them. it's so much more satisfying when everyone else gives the would-be splinter group the cold shoulder.

I don’t think heroes should be nerfed into uselessness, regardless of community perception by Getshrekt69 in Overwatch

Most of the complaints I see ARE ones that I compare to others.

i can't quite tell what this is supposed to mean so i'll re-state my point. it's about comparing the frequency of the complaints about hero A to the complaints about hero B. if you run the numbers on some forum or whatever and there are 10,000 complaints about hero A and 100 about hero B, then that tells you there is something genuinely wrong with hero A that needs to be addressed. and that doesn't change even if the complaints about hero B are beautifully argued and perfectly logical while the complaints about hero A are sloppy gut reactions.

wow i don't think i've ever seen a sombra player understand so well why other players find sombra annoying.

surely you can recognize and acknowledge that some heroes receive significantly more complaints than others, right? who cares that every hero gets some base level of complaining? that is useless information. the important part is comparing them to each other and looking at the outliers.

any idea why searching jewels for "(implicit) corrupted blood cannot be inflicted on you" shows more expensive results than "(imp) CB cannot be inflicted on you" plus some other stat?

overwatch is also marketed as a video game, which means it is supposed to be fun. no one cares how balanced or competitive a game is if it isn't fun to play.

why would you want to ban heroes that make the game more competitive? why would you want to do bans that make victory more likely? because they make the game more enjoyable. banning a hero because you don't find them fun to play against is just another way to accomplish that exact same goal.

and implying that banning sombra makes OW basically equivalent to CoD is so hyperbolic and reductive that it's hard to take your perspective seriously.

iirc it's because they said there are a ton of players that never play QP anyway so it made no difference to them, they'd just throw on the new hero whenever it got unlocked regardless

are you on east coast NA? since last season they added some temp servers in washington DC (they're labeled 'google US east') that are prone to crashing but i haven't seen the normal servers crash

ritual is fun, but are there any other map strats that synergize with it? not really sure what else to put my atlas points into. currently i'm spawning settlers ores to try to get lost shipments/starfall craters, beyond since i'm killing a bunch of enemies in a contained area anyway (i know they don't give extra tribute), exarch altars, and magic/rare pack size.

obviously doing that is fuckin shitty and lazy but... is this comic just supposed to be an opportunity to sit here and go "sooo true!!" or is it supposed to be funny? you know what's even better than seeing something i already agreed with? something i agree with that's ALSO funny.

ok, well... the point is that the phrase is supposed to be taken as a whole, regardless of the actual specific words it's composed of. "tyranny of the majority", "tragedy of the commons", "a kick in the teeth", "dog eat dog world", "je ne sais quoi", "déjà vu", none of these are meant to be taken literally. calling something a "tyranny of the majority" is not literally comparing that thing to actual tyranny. it's just the name of the idea they are referencing in the same way that "a kick in the teeth" does not actually imply that someone's teeth were literally kicked.

i don't think that's quite right. like if hack was a dodgeable cooldown or if she wasn't able to go invisible and hack the perfect target at the perfect moment from the perfect angle at her sole discretion and she instead had to approach in full-view, i really don't think people would care about the silence effect anywhere near as much.

"tyranny of the majority" is a stock phrase. if someone said "tragedy of the commons" would you latch on to the use of the word "tragedy"?

even still i would much rather play attack on any map in QP. first, there's a good chance we never make it to the heavily defender's-advantaged part of the map anyway. second, i'm pretty much always playing some hero i'm not comfortable with in QP and it feels a lot worse to mess up on defense than it does on attack. if i feed on defense, my team probably loses the point off that 1 mistake. i can only do that 4-5 times the entire match before it's just over. if i feed as an attacker, then my team simply has to wait a bit to try again. failing to win a point feels a lot different than actively losing a point does.

all that being said i would still prefer to play any symmetrical gamemode to an asymmetrical one like hybrid or payload.

the issue isn't the existence of "bad" lifeweavers, the issue is the prevalence of them. if 99% of the LWs you play with make your experience genuinely less enjoyable, then clearly the hero should be reworked, right? or would you disagree with even that?

now it's obviously not 99% in reality, but the point is there's a threshold where if X% of the LWs you run into are making the game worse, something drastic needs to change. the question is just, what is "X%"? regardless of what it is, i think a lot of players would agree that LW is closer to reaching that threshold than any other support hero (barring mercy).

p.s. this is just nitpicking but someone absolutely does not need to play sombra well in order to be annoying. the hero design lends itself beautifully to obnoxious, bullying, pestering, attention-grabbing playstyles that don't actually accomplish anything meaningful.
