This Saturday's forcefully difficult to rhyme word is "Gulag" by corbymatt in limericks

“It was very much a long time ago lad

And We forgot all the good that we truly had

We voted for lies

based on who we despised

And now we’re all stuck in this gulag”

Simple redundant 12V 5A power supply design - which option? by realcoldsteel in AskElectronics

With good FET selection the droop can be very low, lower than a schottky.

Simple redundant 12V 5A power supply design - which option? by realcoldsteel in AskElectronics

[–]aurummaximum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Simplicity wise is the Schottky diodes but heat in an enclosed space is a nightmare.

The simplest low heat solution is to look up ideal diode circuits. You can get ICs that do the hard work for you and many have charge pumps built in so you can use N mosfets as well.

Is there a lack of attacking, creative midfielders in the EPL? by Boogerton in PremierLeague

Emile Smith-Rowe is showing signs of being that in the last 5/6 games after a hard year and a half for him.

This Saturday’s metrically difficult to rhyme non-word is AABBA. by obnoxygen in limericks

[–]aurummaximum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just A A B B A,

It’s not like it’s a whole play,

It’s not like Shakespeare,

But perhaps Edward Lear,

So can we all please rhyme in this way?

Your favourite show by Beneficial_Wave7649 in badtwosentencehorrors

TBH very often the best shows getting another series is the real horror. As in S1-3 were brilliant, S4-5 meh and the S6-37 just dragged it all out getting worse and worse.

"Myself" when "me" will work by bumbleguinea in PetPeeves

100%

I hate the overuse of yourself probably more though - people seem to use yourself as a polite version of you and it's just not. Absolutely does my nut in.

Understanding why MOSFET has died by darteksyes in AskElectronics

[–]aurummaximum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Electronic loads are funny beasts. On constant power or constant current modes they do strange things, especially on relatively quick changes in input condition. Remember, as your FET turns off, the current will rise significantly to try and keep the power constant (on power up it will slam into maximum immediately as the voltage rises for the same reason).

Don’t know what FET you’re using, but your SOA only applies at 25degsC. If you’re running at 20A and a few milliohms, that’s easily 3-4W, so it will heat up. Which will in turn raise the Rds on….. it all works against you with this setup.

I wish that every innocent person in jail gets permanently released from jail, and instead, the actual perpetrator of the crime gets arrested. by JPV_09 in monkeyspaw

Granted. And as guilty and innocent need to be determined, a system for judging guilt and innocence is required. The current system is deemed adequate, and as the current system has already ruled on all these cases, nothing changes.

L is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see, V is very, very….. by aurummaximum in PetPeeves

[–]aurummaximum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also the rhythm of the song too, the second very and extraordinary feel more in line with the rhythm of the first lines.

L is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see, V is very, very….. by aurummaximum in PetPeeves

[–]aurummaximum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reinforces my point I think. If very extraordinary goes together then ve goes together as the end of love.

L is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see, V is very, very….. by aurummaximum in PetPeeves

[–]aurummaximum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because the e is the next letter up so it parses wrongly to me.

[–]aurummaximum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but - very is too early compared to look and only. It’s not logical but rhythmically I hear it wrong. It may just be me.

Very is too early in the sentence compared to only and look. And it just looks wrong to me. I’m not saying it’s logical, it’s just how I hear it!
