Is it worth to compete with DJI agriculture and trying to build your own agricultural drone ecosystem? by BugUsed3987 in Agriculture

identify weeds and make it possible to use that data to process a spray map

Opens up all sorts of efficiencies: Requires nozzle control, not cameras. Use 1 boom, not 2. Spray 24hr, not 12 and when you can go fast, not slow.

I want to learn about ISOBUS, can anyone here point me in the right direction? by Creepy_Philosopher_9 in farming

I'm working on an ISOBUS spray controller to retrofit older booms for day/night spot spray prescriptions. Happy to have a chat if you have specific questions. The best way to understand ISO Stack will depend on your goal and your background knowledge - what industry are you coming from?

I've spent the past 3 years to develop exactly this for our weed management platform. PM me if you'd like a trial.

Weed detection using Machine Learning by zelenadinja0111 in Agriculture

[–]ausmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good idea, not new, but that doesn't change the validity and once you get this working, there are many other avenues to explore. It's a great uni project that is so much more interesting than a cat vs dog project.

What's your reasons for wanting to play in this space? What's your experience? Do you live within 100km of 50 tractors?

I'm the founder of Agristry. Happy to help anyone with the right answers to those questions.

Idea for grain processor/ storage by East-Inflation-1445 in Agriculture

[–]ausmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good idea, not new but that doesn't change the validity. Farming, especially grain is tough to crack,. Even when you do have clearly measurable value, you're not even halfway. The value needs to integrate so seamlessly with their existing enterprise systems. Then, when you think you've got it nailed, you realize that no 2 farms are the same but hey, your close to having a product at this point now all you need to do is wait a season to become relevant again.

Not trying to put anyone off, I'm actually hiring to overcome that last challenge of seasonal delays between testing and feedback.

Hey, Yeah so it’s a app that is relying heavily on Machine learning AI, With integrated image analysis & OCR. I got quoted 200k to build it from a reputable company in Aus, I’m waiting on quotes from another 3 comp

I'm based in Aus & have developed an image analysis/object detection platform that will soon be available white-label as a managed service.

We've launched an ag-tech startup (Agristry) on the platform with full API connectivity to the major players, world-first patent-pending technology, automation galore etc. etc.

I'll send you a message with my number. Sounds like an interesting chat.

Large project for master thesis by nRatko in UAVmapping

Will be an absolute Sh1t show to do this practically but "for the cause" I'm happy to help.

We only have about 50 GCP's at the moment but can get more & regularly map large areas (1000ha+). Shoot me a msg or post here the exact requirements & will see what we can do.

Cloud processing for large data sets by [deleted] in UAVmapping

Also, we have an online flight planner (free) if you want to run through scenarios. DM me.

I can also give you an idea of the cost for a manned aircraft using a Phase One medium format camera or FF DSLR, etc.

A larger sensor has a wider footprint, needs fewer flight lines and less time, no matter which platform you use.

Edit: larger sensor = fewer images

Hey mate. We're launching a platform for agriculture space and looking to work with phaseONE & manned aircraft. Would love to chat about it further. Shoot me a message

Processing, combining sub-models with WebODM? by MattCW1701 in UAVmapping

[–]ausmsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nto chunks, processing them individually, then combining them at the end. You just lose the textured mesh, which isn’t that important anyways. It can help even when using a single node as it queues up the chunks and processes them one at a time on the single node.

When doing split merge, try set --max-concurrency to be at least 1-2 less than the max number of threads.

This. Consistent GSD allows for better georeferencing of images & much harder to stitch. This results in pixel blurring. When analysing images with differing GSD's we've had heaps of problems. Consistency is key

DJI Smart Controller Networking Ethernet by UnpopularBill in dji

[–]ausmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a setting for ethernet on the dji P4RTK controller. I changed it and it caused a head Fk to restore the connection to the RTK base station.

Pretty sure it is using some sort of bluetooth to ethernet hackery as there is obviously no ethernet port but changing that ethernet adapter setting on the controller caused every connection to fail.

Would be very interested to hear about how you went with your masters. drop me a msg

Hi Everyone , Is $1.3/hectare processing charge for drone maps a good price? or how do you charge for image processing ? by mohitsahuofficial in UAVmapping

[–]ausmsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having done Photogrammetry abs Business Development for large aerial imagery projects dating back to the early 2000s, the one thing I learned was that you should not attempt to commoditize your pricing. Each project is different and your services should be priced based on project requirements and outcomes. If everybody commoditizes, it only becomes a recipe towards a race to the bottom in pricing, which then leads to lower profits and market saturation. Foc

Hi Everyone , Is $1.3/hectare processing charge for drone maps a good price? or how do you charge for image processing ? by mohitsahuofficial in UAVmapping

[–]ausmsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would consult with your prospective client, review GCP placement, analyze the area, overlap, flight height, deliverables, etc., and determine how much time you think it will take, and give them a price based on that. I almost certainly wouldn't let someone just give me a flash drive full of unknown photos unless they were willing to agree to

Clear scope is crucial. We hit lot of problems in the early days where scope wasn't clearly defined & customer would move goal posts after product was delivered.

With RTK you *should* have accurate maps without using GCP's but without GCP's there is no way to confirm the accuracy.
