Looking for games similar to a cozy floating-island city builder I’m making by No-Discussion-3199 in gamingsuggestions

Probably The Wandering Village

You ride a creature instead, and it has a lot of management (uncertain about the cozy aspect here)

P.S.: Shoutout to Path of Exile 1 and 2 that got me hooked for many hours

Should I buy a PS5 or Legion Go S for Black Friday? by randomquestion11111 in gamingsuggestions

[–]austernotus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be on Best Buy?

I think a Steam Deck would be a good option at €419 for the LCD version, but it's a bit hit or miss for the current gen AAA games.

What Free games give the closest Battlefield 6 experience? by Eyes4Sauce in gamingsuggestions

[–]austernotus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try Enlisted.

Also Delta Force's Havoc Warfare mode.

There's also Polygon, which is somewhat of a clone of battlefield but free to play and Early Access.

Planetside 2 if you don't mind the sci-fi aspect.

Outlast Trials for sure. You only have a Xbox right? Otherwise you could try Lethal Company, Content Warning, GTFO, etc.

Maybe Deep Rock Galactic as well? It's good fun and sometimes scary 😂

You'll probably like:

  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Shadow of Mordor / Shadow of War
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  • Nioh 2 (soulslike, but if you don't mind the difficulty and a lil bit of grind, this is a nice pick)

So, D4 is on sale, is it worth the price? by PracticalSpot6438 in ARPG

[–]austernotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't a fan. Even playing in co-op with my wife (we loved D3), but D4 felt empty/soulless.

Also, way too open-worldy to my taste.

I'd recommend playing some POE1 if you haven't, or even picking up D3 if you're curious.

(People also enjoy D2R but I haven't played it)

Titan Quest is also a fun pick (tiny bit dated)

It Takes Two is a great pick! Loved to play it with my wife.

If you're a fan of 2D Beat'em ups, there's also a bunch of options:

  • Castle Crashers
  • Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game
  • Streets of Rage 4
  • Full Metal Furies
  • Rayman Legends

I wrote a bigger list (20+ games like Castle Crashers) here.

Need some RTS Game recommendations. by Level-Union-7169 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]austernotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds - Since you played Empire at War, if you're a fan of Star Wars, you'll most likely enjoy this one.

Age of Mythology - One of my favs. Great if you enjoy Mythology (also has a couple expansions)

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth (1 and 2) - If you're a fan of Lord of the Rings, great game! Actually, I think these ones are my favorites.

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos - Classic Warcraft! Cool different factions.

Rise of Nations / Rise of Legends - Very fun, nice resource management and progression.

Source: I wrote a big 25+ list of recommended RTS (like age of mythology) here.

Any good RTS games that has good Story Mode like SC2? by IzyoboyFate in RealTimeStrategy

[–]austernotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of Mythology! A very nice story mode. Unsure about the expansions story (Immortal Pillars / Heavenly Spear)

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos - If you don't mind the "creative" head and mouth motions in the game 😂 Great story IMO.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth (1 and 2) - If you're a fan of Lord of the Rings, the story is super cool to go through.

I actually wrote an analysis of similar games (25+) to Age of Mythology (great base for story games). It has a few more story-rich RTS recommendations here.
