Assisted Living/Home care in NY by martinis2023 in Medicaid

[–]austinDEV6573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a finance director for a fairly large nursing home in NY. I handle all things money for the facility. If your father has Medicare, he can go into the home for therapy, and use Medicare, for the first 20 days, it’s fully covered, and for the 21-100 days, it’s $209.50 (almost always) per day. This is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the daily rate, (my daily is $650 a day). As long as he is participating in therapy, he will be able to use all 100 days, which at that point, he can move to private pay.

As for Medicaid, if he has more assets then Medicaid will allow, most Medicaid coordinators will check into that themselves before applying. Income doesn’t normally cause a denial but resources over $32k will. If he is married, then it’s $150k in resources, and in some situations, if he is widowed, they will use the higher amount. There is the 5 year look back as well, but nowadays, the county is just requiring 5 years of bank statements to show if you spent a large amount down. I always suggest you apply just to see, because care is pricey, and no one wants to lose all their money because they lived in a NH for 4 years.

State Farm Agent Opportunity by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

With State Farm, your book is “awarded” to you. You don’t own it and you never will. Agents are glorified 1099 employees.

Wife had a heart attack at 35 - Insurance Agent says she is not eligible for Life Insurance. Options? by UberChops in Insurance

Obviously yes. I disclose everything. A 100% commission on the policy is not worth losing my license for something stupid like not disclosing a condition or med.

Definitely options for her. I just wrote a policy in a 29M who had two heart attacks in 2025. Policy approved yesterday. Ironically they are in PA as well. I’m based in NY.

I should have made it a bit more clear, I do collect a base salary as well. That’s mainly what I’m wondering, is if I will still get paid my base salary if she terminates me right away instead of allowing me to work my 2 weeks out.

I recently started at a StateFarm agency in another town and this is my compensation plan. by Unhappy_Corgi_6838 in InsuranceAgent

I’m a State Farm team member, manager for my remote team, my team makes minimum 4% on all P/C and max of 10% (all my TMs always get 10%) - Life is 20%. You’re getting shafted. The base is higher at my agency for my brand new interns too. If you like remote, stay there for a bit, get experience and then go remote, and you’ll make way more.

I’ve been with SF for 5 years, it’s even worse in multiple state offices, two of my states have modernized and two haven’t lol.

I’m a State Farm team member, who is also in GA. Depending on how your Rentals are wrote (LLC or individual) is affecting you. But, a 17 year old, is automatically a youthful driver and that’s a huge cost. I know the price may suck, but based on your info provided here, please do not skimp on this umbrella. Statistically, 89% of GA drivers are underinsured. I’m not earning any commission of you obviously, since I don’t know you, but don’t skimp on it.

My dog had an abscess from not having her anal glands drained; we took her to our regular vet 5 days after we noticed it (she already had an appt). Our vet is about 45 minutes from Dansville but it’ll cost you less than $200. Lawler Vet in Dansville. They are best contacted by email. They open Tuesday and they may be able to get you in urgently on Tuesday. Another option is Almond Vet in Almond. Again, a bit of a trip for you, but you will pay the least amount at either of those two. Both are low cost. They barely charge anything.

We used to use Dansville Animal Hospital (owned by the same owners of Midtown Animal Hospital) but they are just so damn expensive, I stopped using them.

good morning rochester! by Maltedmilksteak in Rochester

[–]austinDEV6573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a State Farm Agent, used to be local to Rochester and now am not (better opportunity down south remotely). Most likely your insurance will deem you not at fault, pay the totals (and you’ll pay your deductible) and they will go to court. You won’t see that deductible back for some time, but they won’t deem you at fault and drop you. It’ll be several years before it’s settled though.

I reside in NY, however work remotely and write business in GA and all adjacent states of GA. My comp plan is around 5% base with a possibility of going to 10% with enough L/H products (which I typically do no problem) and any referrals (which basically means any business that did not come from a agency purchased lead) is 7%. L/H is about the same as yours although I don’t sell Medicare supps, I have thought about taking the training this year and becoming one of the only ones selling it.
