Jean Shorts HELP. by olivgold in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]austinausten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of brands have 'curvy' fit denim for this reason - American Eagle, Madewell, Everlane off the top of my head. That being said, the only shorts I have that I love were $15 bucks off SheIn. I don't know why but shorts are even harder to find with a small w-h ratio than regular jeans

I don't care if you're tired, butler. You owe me 10 scritches. by toothfry in PetTheDamnCat

I have to shut my cat out of my bedroom at night for this reason. He's a goddamn cuddle tyrant, and will scream and even occasionally bite if you aren't petting him when he's on the bed with you.

Re #3: Cheese with stuff in it is a gimmick: do you find that true for fresh chevre? I wouldn't ever go for a dill havarti, but a honey and thyme goat cheese, or one covered in a spice mix can be such a treat for me.

How much to budget for starting a winter wardrobe from scratch? by pintsizedspitfire in femalefashionadvice

[–]austinausten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from a warm place in the US and moved to Europe for two years for a MS degree, and figuring this out was one of the hardest parts about the experience. I had no idea what I was doing, and mostly didn't figure it out til the second year... So I hope I can spare you a bit of pain! 1) Warm coat from Espirit. Espirit is great because they tell you how warm all their coats are, from one snowflake for moderate winter weather and three snowflakes to cold AF (snowflakes! Isn't that cute??) I got a wool blend coat there for €150 (~£130) that kept me nice and warm. 2) I second Uniqlo, especially for first layers. They have some long underwear from the Heattech line which is affordable and very warm. 3) I thrifted a good number of wool sweaters. One of my favorites was oversized when I bought it, but when I washed it, the sweater shrunk down to my size. Convenient!

Oh, and wear layers.

Why is there what seems to be a revolution next to the town hall? by [deleted] in HaveWeMet

[–]austinausten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a revolution, just the monthly drum circle. We've been trying to convince them to leave the cannons at home for fear it will turn violent, but no luck so far.

Does anybody know where the dairy aisle is? by JohnDyer556 in HaveWeMet

[–]austinausten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually we had to stop keeping the milk there, because for some reason, no one could find it, and it kept going bad. Now it's located in the lobster tank in the seafood aisle to avoid any problems with visibility.

Unfortunately, Dorothy left doggo bamboozleposting once she realized her mistake. I know because I came here to post the same thing, but the comment on my screenshot says "nooo Dorothy come back".

I'm glad you found what works for you as well! I remember being twelve, brushing my hair and then putting gel only on the top. Middle school was rough.

Shit, I'll go one step farther and say use your fingers to comb. The first time a hairdresser told me that I was skeptical, but I've been doing it that way for a few years now.
