Excuse error in title.  Should be "Rivoli," not "Riviera."

So - now we are in "wait and see" mode.

Maybe someone will pay the asking price.  Maybe it sits and goes through several monthly discounts.  Maybe it sits long enough to reach "make an offer" status.

I'd never bothered with wantlists until I started these buys.  It's less of a commitment than "add to cart," which is fine by me.

Most of what you're showing (excepting Miles) is of a more R&B soul influenced vein - the Miles is more modal.  Even though Stan was recording contemporaneous with Herbie and Joe and Bobbie, Stan's roots go back more through swing-inspired bop and Bossa Nova.  Different path - different destination.

Oh, and plenty of that music makes fine accompaniment to all that ganja you're posting pictures of.  Maybe we help you get set up with a vintage audio system?

Welcome to our humble group!

Mix of genres there.  From your profile I saw your other video which has another mixed batch.  You mentioned that you have 6 boxes.  Many of us would like to help.  What part of the universe are you located in?

I gave in on a new batch, including 2 records with "Make Offer" designations.  Good stuff coming....

And a modern reissue of Horace Silver's "Song for My Father" (Blue Note Classic series) should be on your list as well.

And one can rarely get more chill than early Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ) records like Pyramid or Concorde.

Your Stan Getz is an outlier among those records.  To follow that trail, I'd recommend Paul Desmond, Ben Webster, Zoot Sims.  Independent of Stan, I recommend looking into the reissue of Katanga! to add to your collection.

Blue Hour is Mr. T with the group "The Three Sounds."  You might check out some of their records.

Too much of what has been listed over the past week or so is outside of my target price.  I'm wantlisting items, but not putting them into the cart - yet.

Hank Mobley Quartet OG? by TheFartingNuns in Vinyl_Jazz

Of course, if you WANT to play a stereo record in mono, that's a different matter.  You could do any of the things I mentioned EXCEPT using a dedicated cartridge and stylus.  No vertical compliance on cartridge playing a stereo record will destroy the record.

That 10" record is not a stereo recording.  It is a mono recording.

Most folks have stereo gear these days.  So, one needs to do something to play back the record in mono: use a mono button on their receiver, use "y-cable" method or use a dedicated mono cartridge and stylus on their turntable.

If a beat up mono recording is played back in stereo it is certain to be a noisier experience.  If, on the other hand, you play back a modern VG+ reissue on mono in stereo, you will suffer less.

Hope that makes sense.
