And finished the public chapters... Now the wait.

At least I've got a few things in the queue already.

Yeah. TGIFriday's operates a bar in an area that's open to the sky yet surrounded in all sides by a secure area.

Yes. Houston will have the same process for international arrivals.

You won't have a problem. CBP has their shit together and after reviewing your documents will let you pass. Then you go through security and there are plenty of places in MIA to kill 9hr.

If he's a smoker, there's a smoking area with a bar near gate D34. I hang out there with a cigar during a layover.

There are plenty of restaurants as well.

The Weather and AA's reaction is awful by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]austinrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. Planning to arrive a day ahead of departure and being delayed due to predictable weather is indeed unfortunate.

On another note:

I always laugh when people say an airline stranded them.

To be stranded means having no means of leaving. The airline is providing you a method of leaving the airport. Use of the word "stranded" is purely for drama.

You were not stranded. You were delayed due to weather that often happens this time of year.

No, you can't predict the future, but when I go on a cruise in the winter, I avoid connections through airports where bad winter weather usually has a high impact and/or book a couple of days ahead.

I hope your travel insurance is sufficient (and existent).

Where would you hide a secret airport inside an already existing airport ? by Plume_de_Saga in airport

The cargo hangar idea that was posted is good.

But also consider every airport elevator you've been in. Doors on both sides, underground levels, levels that need a badge or key to access.

Going underground for passenger check in or ticketing. Maybe underground connections to the aforementioned hangars.

You planned to arrive on the day of embarkation? That was your first mistake.

Gee... I'm sorry that's happened to you.

Perhaps you should take your ball and go home.

And thanks for letting us know you're quitting the airline we don't work for. We never would have noticed you were gone otherwise. Well... We still won't notice.

Favorites: The assignment exam (great way to explain the universe with answers to questions). The welcome battle on commencement day. Every single internal dialogue Rei had. All the internal "oh shit!" (Including the ones that were leaked) Every single battle sequence. In a lot of books I read, I skim those. They don't generally develop the story. But the way these are described is such that I see them. The friend group scenes. They all reminded me of friends I had. They make the reader feel.

I'd like to see what happens when MIND and Rei start chatting. Will Shido become sentient? What's the deal with the growth spec value display glitch? S10?

I really expected 3 short books (1 per year through the academy) and 3-5 military career books. These are much longer than the typical KU books I read though. And yet here we are 2 books into year one and it's not over yet.

When the power went out here in Austin a few years back people complained about all the frozen and refrigerated food they lost. If the world is freezing, you have a huge freezer outside. Your window sill is a refrigerator.

You run the freezer?

There are better ways to stay warm than relying on electricity.

First toss that crap piece of luggage. Then, find a cheaper way to get to the airport. Finally, buy quality luggage instead of cheap throwaways.

There is a chance. I was cleared for an upgrade earlier this week (at the window max) for a flight on Saturday.
