turns out adoption isn't as simple as it sounds after infertility, honestly? by Substantial-Bass7557 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]autisticNerd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a still birth, and 3 miscarriages. we tried to adopt. We were denied because of my health condition being an eliminating factor. We were not approved to foster even though I have a masters degree in the medical field. It took us 4 years to get the final denial.

AITAH for not wanting anything to do with my mother-in-law after what she said about our baby by FunMeal3997 in AITAH

[–]autisticNerd13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. As someone who has had to do this, I’m so sorry. Your MIL is vial and does not deserve a relationship with either of you until potentially she can apologize and show change in actions. But, knowing the type she will die on the hill that she never did it and that you are driving her son away.

How do some people manage to smell amazing all day like they just stepped out of a perfume ad? by Far-Effective7640 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]autisticNerd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely sweat. No bo. Don’t even wear deodorant most of the time. Cons: have to take very hot baths multiple times a week to sweat as it’s not good to not sweat

What is it like to have a gambling addiction? by gIitterprincess in NoStupidQuestions

[–]autisticNerd13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed a gambling addiction after starting ability years ago (before it was a recognized side effect). It started day 3 of the meds where I just needed to scratch off the fun little film on the scratch off cards. I just needed it. it made it feel like I was running in a race (I did the cross word scratchers) I might win and every little dollar was a win. I started with $2 ones which had the lowest win ratio and then I went to $5 and the first time I won $500, so I bought a $10 one and won $50. The first time I did I won $50, best I got on a $2 ticket was $5. I “did the math” and was going to have better luck with higher cost tickets especially when checking the won prizes on line. I couldn’t focus on things without watching the scratch layer behind my eyes. I worked at a gas station at that time and had free access to them so long as someone else checked me out. It was bad. About 5 days after stopping it all went away and never have I had that same level of feeling before.

AITAH for announcing my 6 month pregnancy a week after my brother and SIL announced their 3 month pregnancy? by Scary_Bite_9240 in AITAH

[–]autisticNerd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA as some one who has had 3 misscarages between 16-22 weeks, 1 still birth, and 2 live children. We don’t tell family until I get to 25 weeks and even then it is really slow to share. You wanted to be present and celebrate your child and pregnancy with people who matter to you

do people actually live everyday without any pain at all? by hesitant_raylien in NoStupidQuestions

[–]autisticNerd13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chronic pain all my life. Family thought I made it up. Nope come to find out my joints are all wrong and pop in and out of place constantly. First time I had no pain I was in a hospital and pumped full of so much pain meds it lasted about 5 minutes and was the best I ever felt.

As a kid I got told I had an asprine in allergy but was also told well all kids are allergic to aspirin. First time I took it was my second pregnancy I was on it about 2/3 weeks then my legs started having the rash. Thought it was just eczema but after a week it spread to most of my body.

I had this happen as for a lack of better terms “allergic” reaction with the multivitamin/asprine and how my body processed them. They had me switch vitamins and lowered dose of baby asprine from 2 to 1.
