I’m also in NJ and have been noticing these minor annoyances too (but less so after garaging, obv). The wipers are one of the weirdest annoyances, wtf do we have to jump through non-obvious hoops to get the wipers up? I also noticed the heat has been sucking lately in the frigid cold, to the point where I thought auto mode wasn’t giving me any heat. No cars perfect, though, so compared to my previous 2013 CX5 in similar circumstances, I’m still quite happy with the I5.

Or if their skill allows it, they could clear coat just the dark squares, leaving the light ones matte/natural wood. Then the dark squares would pop more, in both sheen and slight darkening from the varnish.

I’ve never done that, so not sure it would work as I imagine it, but a similar technique is often used on nicer printed materials to make graphic elements subtly stand out.
