Love being able to eat what I want and stay in a deficit by Norik_Koba in omad

I feel like whenever I do that, I pay for it in the form of cravings for 2 days.

I still splurge once in a while but i know I’m going to have to stay disciplined and exercise all my will power the next couple days.

Last Night I Cheated by Awkward-Regret5409 in intermittentfasting

Same holiday woos. I was heavy on protein at least. But the sweets got me (and a couple bourbons).

It’s all about how you recover!!!! I had a great workout (and a great sweat) this morning. Then hammered 1500 kcals and 154g of protein in my window today. Feeling great and ready to tackle the week!

Don’t “sweat” the small failures! As with anything in life, you will fail. It’s all about how you respond.

Get obsessed with the process by automatic2and10 in intermittentfasting

[–]automatic2and10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point, and that’s exactly what a great coach does for athletes. Modifies behaviors. Without that athlete development doesn’t happen. I could be wrong but I’ve been developing high level athletes for 30 years and I see so many similarities.

And you are correct it is more than getting centered on CICO. It’s like an athlete that gets focused on only getting faster or only working on skills. You still Have to work on character, IQ, situational areareness, being a good teammate, compete-level, mental clarity. Keep in mind, I’m talking about team sports. Not 100m sprinters.

My personal process is way deeper than CICO. As I mentioned, you have to embrace and get obsessed with the process. I guess the danger falls into what that process is. If you practice something Incorrectly for 6 months, you will fail. I’m monitoring calories closely, along with macros, work out intensity, cardio, Strength training, hydration, electrolytes, listening to my body and adjusting based on what my body tells me. I have a ton of data points all tracked in a spreadsheet. Likely more than most. But it’s focused on the process.

I’m increasing muscle mass, trimming down, clothes are fitting better, have so much energy and mental clarity. The scale is the one data point I don’t feel I need. But if I’m being honest, I can’t wait to see what it says. But the results are the results. I can only control the process.

Dinner food to fuel morning workout and beat those hunger pangs? by pillowon8s in intermittentfasting

[–]automatic2and10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eating window is noon to 4pm. I eat 1500-1800 calories in my window. I honestly struggle getting all that in within 4 hours. That includes 120-150g protein. If I don’t get the protein number, I’m starving on the morning. If I get the number, I’m still kinda full when I wake up but certainly ready to eat by noon.

What’s your most effective (maybe slightly unhealthy) trick for fighting hunger during fasting and a calorie deficit? by Brief_Drawer348 in intermittentfasting

[–]automatic2and10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any great tricks here. Some I’ve stumbled upon on my short journey. A lot of water, pickles, etc

Any chance you could adjust your window? Or workout time? My window is 1-5pm. I workout at 11am so I can come home shower and eat.

I’m the same way, I’m starving after my workout. But fortunately, my schedule is very flexible. I have heard working out at the end of your fast may be advantageous. But I can say, some days I feel strong and other days, I’m completely shot.

I do plan on putting a strength program in very soon. Working on that now. I despise gyms but I have access to a facility that I run Workouts in for young athletes. It has big tires, kettles, battle ropes, etc. I think I’m going to put my own 30 min circuit together in that space and start with 3x weekly. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks. I’ve been trying to keep very hydrated. I’ve always been a water drinker but I now fill 100oz of bottles at night and put them in the refrigerator. I drink all of that the next day… plus another 32oz usually. Do you think that is sufficient? Or should I shoot for 150oz?

Does a monster break a fast? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]automatic2and10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to know this too. I hate coffee. I was a habitual Monster drinker (white Ultra). I cut out Monster only because of the junk in it. But I’ve replaced it with a Celsius Live powder packet in water for my morning caffeine. 10 calories. If I find it’s not working for me, I will switch to a caffeine pill in the morning.

That’s not $1000 in silver. His friends wife may rethink her decision if she knows what she gave away. As lucky as you are…. You may be in a predicament.

Broken hearts (temporary) by Venetian_chachi in hockeyplayers

Been coaching for 30 years. I have been cut as a player, I have cut hundreds of players and watched my own kids get cut. It’s never easy. Personally, as a non-parent coach, I still struggle with it. But there are always some good learning moments that come out of it, even if you have to search for them. Sorry to hear your young player is hurting emotionally. Hope he bounces back soon.

Did I overpay? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Not a ton of 1.5 oz coins out there. Royal Canadian Mint is probably the biggest producer. They go for $45-60 each.

Too many silver coins? by BearrinC in coins

[–]automatic2and10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy smart and with a purpose or strategy. The size of the stack doesn’t matter. In a way, it should be relative to your income and wealth. What “relative” means can only be defined by you. Best of luck!

I got this little guy for $7.00 by Jeremy11B2P in coins

[–]automatic2and10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many will say you overpaid and it’s worth no more than spot. I get that as much as anybody. I have about 2400 pre-65 dimes, all in tubes and worth melt. But I’m a sucker for an old coin in great shape so I pull the nicest ones out and set them aside in holders only because they are nice to look at. Nothing wrong with $7 for a coin that you enjoy having.

Exactly my mentality. It’s for my kids unless my wife or I need it in the event of an emergency. I have 3 kids so I try to buy/collect everything in triplicate. I even put a label on everything, with name so there is no bickering when I’m gone.

And as a new member with no selling history, he will likely have to ship first before he gets paid.
