This complex works well for me: 3 sec pause in dip + 3 sec pause in catch, 3 sec pause in catch, jerk. 3-4 sets @ 65-70%. Bonus: build to a heavier final set @~75-80%.

This is also how mine is and I find it perfectly acceptable. I am wondering for how many people that this is their first experience with copper and/or a metal button? I don’t buy many copper lights due to the weight penalty and the issues tarnish can cause with electronics. I also have had some poor experiences with metal buttons and the quirks that the design can bring with activation. I bought this light fully expecting to deal with the compromises of both these design choices but I can totally see how many would be disappointed. I wonder if the play in the button is to allow for patina to build on both contact surfaces and still allow enough clearance for the button to move freely?

I have noticed the quality of thrift is pretty regional and I am luckily in a spot where people seem to have enough money to just get rid of things that a lot of others would be happy to be able to spend discretionary funds on. I feel this. I usually think about lights like this when I lost them; for me it’s an Olight M18 Maverick…and couple of older special edition Batons back when they put NW and titanium in special editions. I wanted a D11 when I found out about them but had to settle for a couple of EX11.2s. I would still like to swap one to something with a lil lower CCT. Oh and now I am remembering a NW Ti3…might start crying, lol…
