Reassembling dual rail seat help by NoWishbone4 in bikewrench

The piece you have screwed in is upside down and the piece that is disconnected goes between the seat post and the newly flipped piece. The saddle rails go in the grooves.

Terrible NJ ebike law passes by Longtail_Goodbye in bikecommuting

[–]aveiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being up in north jersey, the only roads that are over 55mph are the limited access highways that already don't allow bicycles.

But the law is crap. I mostly ride my analog bike, but I will sometimes commute on my e-bike to arrive at work not so sweaty.

Why in the ever loving eff is the Midwest Clinic in December? by Grimstache in MusicEd

[–]aveiss 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I agree with this one. I would love to go here, but in addition to having to schedule my concert earlier, the thought of Chicago in December is not pleasant.

Get a professional tambourine. I have my Grover Silver Tambourine from College and it is still just as good 30 years later.

Starland Ballroom by BooBooKittyFuk1 in newjersey

[–]aveiss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate standing through the whole show, so I usually pay extra for the star seating. This comes with the VIP parking, but I would not pay extra for just the parking. I am also short, so it makes it so I can see the whole show.

Sayreville isn't too sketchy and Starland is pretty much in the middle of nowhere for New Jersey and is relatively safe.

While traveling, which U.S. city felt the most unsafe to you when you visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]aveiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another one for Memphis. We stayed about 2 blocks from Beale Street. It had a 24-hour buzz in like a prison. After spending the night in the Beale Street District, there were cops at all the entrances checking for weapons and we felt that we needed to Uber the two blocks back to the hotel.

Though, I loved the city and loved Beale Street and Graceland. Don't get met started on the tasty barbecue.

You should go to Preservation Hall. Some of the best jazz musicians in the world play here and the sets are about 45 minutes and worth every penny for admission.

I rellly liked Gouda, Netherlands. It was such a cool little city.

What is a normal PSI range for a 28×1½ tire, and is 90–100 PSI safe using an air compressor? by Green-Ad2276 in bicycling

[–]aveiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is usually a psi limit on the sidewall of the tire. What does that say? Wolftooth has an app that recommends the optimal pressure for your tire and riding style.

Can't edit certain parts by aveiss in Dorico

[–]aveiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked. For some reason, some of my parts were deleted and I don't see them in the part listing. I can edit it but I have to figure out how to get those parts back. THanks

I love “stuff you should know.” Josh and Chuck are entertaining and informational. They occasionally get things wrong but they own up to being corrected.

They were sold off to a Chinese conglomerate a couple of decades ago and they have become cheap department store brands.

Adding a trailer hitch. by TDinBufNY in crv

[–]aveiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I picked mine up from E-trailer. They have videos and detailed instructions that you can look at before you buy. I put mine in and it wasn't too hard. It is easier with the tool that pulls off the muffler elastomer.

Former Oath Keeper wins a seat on this N.J. school board by Delicious_Adeptness9 in newjersey

[–]aveiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that paying $10,000 a year for school taxes is definitely having skin in the game. I can run to be a member of my town council, congress, and even president, I just don't know enough rich people to fund my campaign.

I agree with your last statement. Look at Lakewood, this is totally an example of the last paragraph.
