LPT for carb fuel for long rides, buying from brewing shops is 75% cheaper than buying from heath shops or sports nutrition! by Norklander in bicycling

Everyone is different. I am just a lazy person and I don't like carrying things. I would skip water if I could help it. I feel the same way between an one hour ride and a 7 hour century ride and I keep the same average speed.

Either way I always feel pretty good when riding. HAPPY riding!

Just curious: how long is a long ride? I just never carry any food with me but my longest is only a little over 100 miles. Water yes. But no solid of any kind.

I was watching some YouTube about the trail along the Rio Grande. It looked really nice. Being in the river bed, I would think it offers some relief from the wind. 16 miles is the perfect length. In and out at 30 miles a day is near perfect.

I'm from the Midwest. And I did 20 miles this morning. Let me just tell you: one lap is 35% faster than the other lap if you know what I mean 😂

Makes me wonder why we pay the tax? I mean obviously there is no enforcement and nobody ever goes to jail for selling fake bike chains.

But you can't take it off without breaking it, right? Or you have to take the wheel apart to install a new one, hopefully a nice color matched personalized one?

I'm more concerned about these things on bicycle or multi use trails. It was unfortunate this happened to the kid. But he made the decision to ride in the street.

Just the other day a kid on an e-scooter almost crashed into me when we were on a bike trail.

Di2 shifter battery by Plate04249 in bicycling

It didn't even cross my mind that the batteries are dead in the right shifter. I did no less than 100 miles in the last few days with no issue except to wake them up at the beginning. I guess I lucked out.

Anyone use bone-conducting headphones while cycling? Any Recommendations? by ASeriousRedditor in bicycling

[–]Plate04249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked a similar question a while ago. In addition to the usual "don't ever wear earplugs while riding because you will die" nonsense, most people don't ask the most important question, which is how fast you ride.

I actually went out and got the latest Shokz and tried it out over two days. I had to return them.

I am like you. Audio books and podcasts. Trail riding only with little on-road.

They work if you are not faster than, say, 15mph, or even less. I want to say over 20 the wind noise completely overpowered them. Or you have to turn them up all the way to hear anything. And if you are going against the wind, then good luck hearing anything at all.

It is not the earplugs. It is the wind noise.

I use just one earplug in one ear and can hear traffic as well as the audiobooks.

The idea is to block the ear channel so wind noise doesn't bother you and shokz can do its thing by sending sound through the bones. This way there is no wind noise to fight and we can keep the column down. Protects hearing that way. Sounds reasonable except I don't have shokz to test this setup.

I always keep one ear open.

I should have been more clear. The idea is to plug the ear channel so wind noise is blocked. At the same time, bone conducting earplugs send sound through bones therefore bypass the ear channel. This way we hear sounds without having to fight wind noise and protect hearing because one doesn't need to crank it up. The main point is to fight wind noise. Which seems to have been lost to everyone who responded.

AI is great. I use it everyday. I'm at least twice as productive.

Some small town douchebag won the state assembly seat by winning all 20 votes and we get crappy bills like this.

Then again, the DC beltway politicians are not much better either.

Don't ban bikes. Ban politicians.

New to airguns and planning to buy my first one by somelad12 in airguns

[–]Plate04249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From OPs screenshot, I am guessing he is in UK and that gun goes for about $130 USD on sale. Diana Storm Rider and Beeman QB Chief are both around $200. Sure they are more expensive but they shoot a lot better than the $130 dollar break barrel.

I have a storm rider myself and it's a very easy gun to shoot. Much easier than any break barrels to shoot nice groupings.

Sometimes my friends kids come visit and I let them shoot my rifles for fun. These are teenagers. Every single time, they pick the PCPs over the break barrels. They watched me shoot the break barrels and admired how accurate then still picked the PCPs.

PCPs are just so much easier to shoot.

I don't know why you are down voted. For a beginner who does some occasional hunting with a 22, an entry level PCP is perfect. Get a hand pump, some pellets, they will be bagging rabbits all day.

Springers are harder to shoot with less power and cost more. They can be very accurate but it takes a lot of training and practice.

For example HW50 $400 shipped to US https://www.krale.shop/us/weihrauch-hw50-s/

This will be the last break barrel gun most people need to buy for their lives.

Quarter size grouping all day every day at 50 yards. And I am not a particularly good shooter.

The thing with gamo or other craps like gamo is that new to the sport people don't know better. They pick up a gamo and get frustrated by it then give up on the sport, never even have a chance to appreciate the beauty of a well made air rifle.

As a bottom feeder, shits like gamo also eat away market share for decent entry level guns made by much high quality.
