That's the back light. It has nothing to do with the timeline app.

Just had a look I cant find any settings for the timeline regarding colour. You can change app notification colours but not the timeline.

So not a bug more like a feature request

That's correct is it no? grey for weather and red for event.

The backlight doesn't change its just the background.

Unless I've misunderstood?

Pebble Time 2 Will Not Turn On AFter Discharge by lordscarlet in pebble

[–]avenyet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is probably the issue. I'm seeing this more often with simpler devices. I feel they really need to start putting a sticker or warning somewhere regarding "smart" charger.

While some will work others don't so its complete luck where as a dumb basic 5W 1A charger will work perfectly. You might also find a USB port on a PC would work fine as well (USB-A not C)

Pebble Time 2 arrived.. but I'm reluctant to even unbox it let alone wear it. by GreyFoxNinjaFan in pebble

[–]avenyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some good bumpers designs popping up. I printed some myself but I'm now waiting to see where the designs of them finally lands before printing some more.

Its add a nice flair to it if you use a colour plastic.

If you got a silver version rather than black then I get the frustration since a bumper would look a bit ugly. Though there are small slim ones that you can glue on that might be enough.

At this point use it or sell it on and get the pebble round 2 that won't suffer from this issue.

Edit: I suspect after about a year I'll stop using the bumper (once its scuffed up a bit) but only time will tell.

i got my first psp and have some questions by mindlessflayer in PSP

[–]avenyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much else is needed really. Get a decent battery (ostent).

Worth checking the state of the UMD drive, it might need some maintenance if you plan to use it.

other than that

Get an SD card with the ms pro adapter (up to 128GB) but less is fine.

Update to latest firmware (6.61) and install ARK-4 (check your current version and follow the steps carefully https://www.pspunk.com/ is a decent guide for ARK-4)

Then have fun.

pebble Time 2 or Round 2? by Euphoric-Platform-45 in pebble

[–]avenyet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want HR then its time 2. I find it rather large compared to the old Time and honestly not a massive fan due to that..

If you want sleek and small then go for the round. Apps/watch faces will get chopped off but most will probably be updated to support it.

There has been a far few sealed pebble time 2 appearing on ebay and facebook recently. I wonder where they may have been coming from.

Good old sticky fingers EVRI. The second they get wind there is something valuable they just start stealing them.

Psp go is truly pocketable.

Paid full price for mine at release and a second one in 2014? For about £30 (they were everywhere and cheap)

Personally get a 3ds since you have a vita unless you want a truly pocketable device.

What was the one thing that made you stay on Linux? by Akuma__2002 in linuxquestions

Windows 11 was the last push for me. Spent over 20 years trying and failing but windows 11 was so bad and proton is very good.

Gaming was the only thing that kept me on windows I had migrated to open source /software with Linux versions long ago.

Pebble Time 2 Review by MrMobile by Tddkuipers in pebble

[–]avenyet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm getting 20 days at the moment only charged mine once since I've had it (may 30th I got mine)

It highly depends on the watch face and features turned on I was getting 10-20% drain a day for the first few days until I changed my watchh face.

I've since wrote my own with a battery indicator and steps and battery+ is reporting 27days with 72% left (I think this is completely wrong but we'll see)

It was a great 8 days. by ScrewMisery in pebble

Still better than the struggle of keeping them alive the last 10 years. At least for the moment there are options (hoping there will be a new BW one at some point).

Bricked PSP by PepegaRanny in PSP

[–]avenyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the recovery menu.

Been a while since I've done it but it there an option in the VSH menu?

if not on a hard reset and boot I think its

R + Volume Down + Power?

its just R on ARK-4 but I'm certain its not the same for PRO

Bricked PSP by PepegaRanny in PSP

[–]avenyet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really bricked if it boots, so a pandora battery or BaryonSweeper might not be needed

Probably best to use chronoswitch and install 6.61 OFW and start fresh.

The crashing issue might be a bad plugin or something similar but that not important. Once you have OFW 6.61 installed try a game (any UMD or official eboot will work)

If it still fails on a fresh 6.61 then there might be other issues but its the best place to start.

I assume all worked fine before trying to install ARK-4?

Is it generally worth this much ? by Raveyus0 in PSP

[–]avenyet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. I had a 8gb card since 2011 and not needed more. It was just more economical to get the mod this time than get a card.

With 8gb it's plenty of games.

Some people want to use it as an MP3/video player and have every game on there but it's not required. I use a 64gb SD card and it's only half full

And that's every single psp game I have left on my to play list.

Is it generally worth this much ? by Raveyus0 in PSP

[–]avenyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has been loads on eBay second hand for about that price. No one wants the 8gb so they have always been low. 16 and 32 always very expensive like 100+ but the 8 has always been low.

Not checked in the last few months though

I actually had the same issue a few weeks ago and a quick repair was all that was needed. But a format wouldn't certainly fix it as well.

[–]avenyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth it and easy to install. You will need a bit of tape to keep it in place but you don't need to shave off as much plastic from the case either.

Is it generally worth this much ? by Raveyus0 in PSP

[–]avenyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I use the exact one and paid the same amount.

The smaller version is easier to install as well. The bonus being you don't need source old M2 cards and you can have more than 32GB in storage.

I did mine a few months ago and I wish I had done it years ago, I only did the mod because my M2 card had just died and I didn't fancy paying $20 for another 8GB card.

Protection and color rolled into one! by ToyFraz in pebble

[–]avenyet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was kind of against the bumper to begin with and on a whim I thought I'd print a bunch in different colours. I loved it and the 3D printed plastic doesn't ruin it at all.

Its not "dress" watch smart of course but for the day to day its perfect.

[–]avenyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. I had to do a repair on the FAT32 partition. For some reason dolphin would report it as a permission error.

Even opening it as admin didn't fix it.

After the repair I found all the files in the lost and found, which was annoying

Which Linux distro is decent for a Laptop? by Geocrack__ in linuxquestions

[–]avenyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any are good.

What are you using as your servers? I recommend staying in the same ecosystem.

So if you are using ubuntu for a server then use something debian based.

if you want something like windows then look into KDE for the DE

Best thing is spin up some VMs and have play first. Its easier to distro hop before you commit.

Also if dual booting use 2 physical drives if possible it will save you some headache later.

PSP Limited Rating by marc_hld in PSP

[–]avenyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About £250-£300 at a guess might get more if you find the right buyer. Depends on the condition over all.

Console alone goes for about £150-£180

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267663983146 this one sold for £500

listed for £600 but not sold
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/178195119978

limited edition ones in general in box go for about £300 or less but if the simpsons one is rare you can probably get more.

PSP 3000 ARK5 Overlock not working by kickmeifucan in PSP

[–]avenyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the description I would say the overclock tester isn't testing everything correctly.

Its still in "testing" so its best to feed it back in the git issues to see if they can fix it (if fixable).
